Let’s face it, this is on the list because Denzel’s character Creasy places a bomb up a guys ass!

9.) He Got Game (1998)

This is one heck of an emotional film, and a power house performance from Denzel. This really is required viewing for any fan, and one of Spike Lee’s best.

8.) American Gangster (2007)

This is a phenomenal film, I love Denzel’s performance as well as that of everyone else involved. This is one of the better Ridley Scott efforts of the past 10 years.

7.) Devil In A Blue Dress (1995)

This film could perhaps be called one of Denzel’s hidden gems. It is a criminally under seen effort, and a great film. If you can track this down, I’d highly recommend it.

6.) The Manchurian Candidate (2004)

This is one of the best remakes of the 00′s Denzel and the entire cast do a superb job, and it was nicely updated. A real surprise!

5.) Ricochet (1991)

This might fall under the guilty pleasure category, but I think it is a decent film in its own right. Denzel is great, and John Lithgow is the perfect nemesis. This is so much fun, I really enjoy it.

4.) Fallen (1998)

This might be one of the greatest discoveries during the last few years on VHS. Denzel, with a great cast and such a fascinating story line. Who doesn’t adore this film?

3.) Inside Man (2006)

This is certainly one of my favourite crime films of the 00′s, it is so much fun and such a great ride. I have seen it many times, and I really do adore Denzel and the rest of the cast.

2.) Crimson Tide (1995)

This might actually be my personal favourite Tony Scott film, it has a great story, great actors, and who doesn’t love a good face off between Denzel and Gene Hackman?

1.) Training Day (2001)

The film that won Denzel the Oscar, I think it was a well deserved win. He is fantastic here, this is an intense film and the man is flawless. This really changed things up for this genre, and a worthy film for this number 1 spot.

The Golden Globes had some surprise winners, for sure. But it was nothing compared to the surprises of the Oscar nominations.

Let’s start with Best Actor. Brad Pitt and George Clooney were expected to receive nominations for Moneyball and The Descendants, respectfully, and did. Jean Dujardin also received a lot of buzz for his role in The Artist and earned a well-deserved nomination. Demian Bichir (A Better Life) and Gary Oldman (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), however, seemed to come out of nowhere. I’m sure their performances are fantastic, but their inclusions lead me to a question. How can you ignore the performances of Ryan Gosling in Drive, Michael Fassbender in Shame and Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar? I almost wish the number of nominees could be expanded so that they could be included. I wouldn’t be upset if Pitt or Clooney took home the prize (and I think Clooney just might); they were both exceptional in their roles. But I’d really love to see Dujardin win the Oscar for an amazing performance in an incredibly creative movie.

Best Actress, to me, seems like a two-woman race between Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady) and Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn). Both actresses capably transformed themselves into legends in their own right. And I was pleasantly surprised to see Rooney Mara’s nomination for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. But here is where it becomes a question of who I think will win versus who I want to win. I think it’s Streep’s to lose. But I want Viola Davis to win for her role in The Help. Her quiet, dignified performance made that movie as powerful as it was. And I think anyone who saw it will also be cheering her on.

The Best Supporting nominations also raised some eyebrows. In the actor category, you’ve got four very distinguished names … and Jonah Hill. Which isn’t a bad thing! Hill’s performance in Moneyball was quite good. I do wish that Armie Hammer’s performance in J. Edgar had earned him a nomination. As much as I’d like to see Kenneth Branagh win for his take on Sir Laurence Olivier in My Week with Marilyn, I think that it will go to Christopher Plummer for Beginners.

I will admit that the Best Supporting Actress nominations actually made me cheer. I may have done a little happy dance when Melissa McCarthy’s name was called for her role in Bridesmaids. It was the performance of the movie. Anyone who can hold their own against Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph and actually stand out deserves to be recognized. I hope that she wins, but I will also be thrilled if Octavia Spencer takes home the Oscar for her performance in The Help.

The category that has me all kinds of confuzzled is Best Picture. Is The Artist talented enough to win? Will War Horse take the lead? Will Hugo wind up with the award? This one is up for grabs. There are several I think could win, but my fingers are crossed for The Artist. It’s a vibrant and imaginative film that stands above the rest, in my opinion.

10.) Dracula (Gary Oldman) from Dracula (1992)

To be perfectly clear I am taking about the above photo’s look with Dracula, not the other look. Gary Oldman is insanely sexy in this role, he oozes it and as a hot blooded woman he came close to making me explode!

09.) Miriam Blaylock (Catherine Deneuve) from The Hunger (1983)

I don’t care who you are, you cannot deny how incredibly sexy Catherine Deneuve was in this film (heck even now in her 60′s she’s amazing). There is something about her and her character that draws you in, and well you can’t help but want some of that.

08.) Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) from True Blood (2008-)

I am pretty sure he is the reason why so many of us tune into True Blood, his character is amazing and portrayed to perfection by Alex. He has this appeal about him, and there is no getting enough of him. Plus he gets his clothes off quite often, so nothing to complain about over here.

07.) Satanico Pandemonium (Salma Hayek) from From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)

Do I need to explain this entry? Salma Hayek in her underwear performing a sexy dance with a snake. Her few moments of screen time are perhaps what people remember the most from this kick-ass film. She proves once again what a sexy woman she is, and well then she proves that these vampires are just nasty!

06.) Damon and Stefan Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder & Paul Wesley) from The Vampire Diaries (2009-)

I love this show and I am not ashamed to admit that. The constantly changing dynamic between the central Salvatore brothers is addicting, with great performances by Ian and Paul. Both are able to play the good guy and the bad guy and remain drool worthy while doing so. Damon especially is one of my all time favourite TV characters!

05.) Dracua’s Bride (Monica Bellucci) from Dracula (1992)

Monica Bellucci as a vampire, of course this makes the list. One of her earlier English language roles was in Dracula and who better to play one of his brides than this sexy vixen? She was stunning then and is stunning now, you will become addicted to her once you see her in this film.

04.) Louis de Pointe du Lac (Brad Pitt) from Interview With The Vampire (1994)

Brad Pitt as a vampire with long hair, umm yes please!! Who didn’t completely fall for him in this film, he was oh so pretty back then (still is) and he gave such a wonderful performance with an incredible amount of heart. Yes every time I watch this I do still find him a very sexy character.

03.) Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) from True Blood (2008-)

Her character started off as an annoying brat but the character development has been phenomenal and she has easily become my favourite part of the show. She is one stunning woman and she shows it, whether she be taking her clothes off or ripping something to pieces. This actress is amazing, as is the character, I always want more.

02.) Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon & Colin Farrell) from Fright Night (1985) & (2011)

Both men played this role well, and actually quite differently, which therefore makes their sex appeal different. Chris Sarandon oozed sex in the original film, the moments we first see him, it is an instant attraction. The best and most sexiest scene is the club dancing scene and by gosh what I wouldn’t do to be all up against him during that. Colin Farrell’s Jerry is quite different, but the fact that it is Colin Farrell in an villainous role instantly makes him sexy and it drew me in.

01.) Selene (Kate Beckinsale) from The Underworld Series (2003-2012)

I am sure this comes as no surprise but when you put a beauty like Kate Beckinsale in those outfits what do you expect? Not only is Selene a character that looks smokin’, she’s actually a pretty strong one as well. Her appeal ranges from her looks to just how bad-ass and awesome she is. It is a role perfectly tailored to Beckinsale, especially with those costumes. REOW!
