“I would do a superhero movie in a heartbeat.  Everyone is going to say Batman. Everyone is going to say the big ones. Anyone who reads Identity Crisis sees I love them all. You give me the smallest character those characters have lived with me since I was eight years old.  I would do Green Arrow in a heartbeat”, he said. It doesn’t tell us much of anything, and it’s uncertain if a film would ever get off the ground. Green Arrow isn’t one of DC’s well-known properties like Batman or Superman, and that’s one reason the studio probably won’t be racing to get a film out soon. However, with the right actor and director, a film could work. Although, many will likely be asking for Justin Hartley, who portrays the character on CW’s Smallville, for the role.

Years of chemical poisoning have spawned a deadly monster that is set out to exact revenge on the humans that have unknowingly brought him to life.”

Opening next week is Another Year (Limited), Biutiful (Limited), Blue Valentine (Limited), and The Way Back (Limited).

We could probably assume this to be a minor role in the film, possibly as Janet van Dyne AKA Wasp. It was revealed at Comic Con (here) that Ant-man wouldn’t be featured in the film, and many assumed the same for Wasp. However, nothing was said about their alter-egos, and seeing as how Marvel has been setting up their films, we can likely assume Wasp would be a possibility. Although, this is merely speculation and Lovato could be up for the role of a villainess.

Other than the principal cast, nothing is known about the film. Given the anticipation for The Avengers, it’s likely to stay secret for sometime. With filming set to begin next year, we should get news on the cast soon.

Update:Lovato’s represenatives have dismissed her involvement in the film via The Playlist.

In an interview with Collider, executive vice-president of IMAX David Keighley revealed that Nolan will be shooting more scenes for his final Batman film (here). “There were be more IMAX in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES than was in THE DARK KNIGHT,” he said. It’s uncertain how much will be shot, but a new, smaller camera is being developed that would allow Nolan to shoot more of the film. Keighley also mentions the film could be released along with The Dark Knight in select IMAX theaters. However, that’s also uncertain at this point.

Mikel’s THE BLACK KLANSMAN, A light-skinned African-American impersonates a Caucasian and joins the notorious Ku Klux Klan to get revenge on the bigots who bombed a church and killed his daughter! Code Red has inked an exclusive deal with VCX to release their back catalog titles of horror films. VCX has opened the vault to give us several classics, like the demonic gory-torture film MARDI GRAS MASSACRE, the Bigfoot run rampant classic NIGHT OF THE DEMON (1980), and the 1978 occult classic HAUNTED starring Aldo Ray!! David Sutton, President of VCX says, “I look forward to Code Red releasing some of our non-adult films back into the marketplace for all the fans to enjoy them once again.” We at Code Red are very excitied about this business venture with VCX and hope to release these films before September 2011!

In the supernatural thriller SEASON OF THE WITCH, Nicolas Cage stars as a 14th century Crusader who returns with his comrade (Ron Perlman) to a homeland devastated by the Black Plague. A beleaguered church, deeming sorcery the culprit of the plague, commands the two knights to transport an accused witch (Claire Foy) to a remote abbey, where monks will perform a ritual in hopes of ending the pestilence.

A priest (Stephen Campbell Moore), a grieving knight (Ulrich Thomsen), an itinerant swindler (Stephen Graham) and a headstrong youth who can only dream of becoming a knight (Robert Sheehan) join a mission troubled by mythically hostile wilderness and fierce contention over the fate of the girl.

When the embattled party arrives at the abbey, a horrific discovery jeopardizes the knight’s pledge to ensure the girl fair treatment, and pits them against an inexplicably powerful and destructive force.

The film is in theaters January 7th, 2011!

I doubt if Marvel’s Thor will be this funny!

Luke Lieberman, the writer of the series, gave an interview to comicbookresources on what’s going on with Red Sonja, plus a possible spin-off with Thulsa Doom:

“It sounds like they are lining up a new director for ‘Sonja.’ I think ‘Conan’ is hitting theaters soon, and if that proves itself in the market, it will bode well for both ‘Sonja’ and ‘Thulsa.’ On ‘Thulsa,’ we just finished the script and are looking for financing partners. Hollywood is always ‘hurry up and wait.’ Using ‘Conan’ as an example, this new incarnation took more than 10 years to hit screens. Warners had it, put it through countless rewrites and directors, Warners lost it, now Lionsgate is finally releasing it.”

Djimon Hounsou stated he owns the film rights to Thulsa Doom and a script. Thulsa Doom was memorably played by James Earle Jones in the Arnold classic.
