Men in Black 3-D is a go

Not only is the third installment of the comic book adapted film Men in Black 3 completely a go, but there’s a couple of other updates to this news too. Showbiz 411 reports that director Barry Sonnenfeld is all ready to go with the third film with both Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith reprising their roles once more.

No word on when the script will be completed, but they are eagerly awaiting it, hoping to wrap up the entire production for a Memorial Day 2011 release. Men in Black has always been a big success box office wise, especially with the sequel which managed to make an estimated $190 Million domestically alone.

The one part that nobody really likes to read anymore is the fact that the film will be released not only in regular 2D but 3D as well. Love or hate it, the third dimension presentation of filmmaking is here to stay for some time, especially with the increased ticket prices that the movie theaters coughed up in order to completely capitalize on the sudden revitalized popularity.

Jones will next appear on the big screen in the John Wells written and directed film The Company Men.

Costner is Learning Italian

Kevin Costner is teaming up once more with Kevin Reynolds on the upcoming feature Learning Italian, says Variety. The film is a spy comedy being directed by Reynolds who previously worked with Costner on several films which include Waterworld. No real plot synopsis has been revealed for the upcoming picture, but filming is expected to commence sometime later on this year. Howard Kaplan will be producing along with Costner and Reynolds on the film under Bavaria and Diplomat Films.

Costner is already in the middle of pre-production on the upcoming picture A Little War of Our Own in which he will star and direct. He can next be seen on the big screen in the John Wells written and directed feature The Company Men.

Jones doesn’t want to be The Lincoln Lawyer

Tommy Lee Jones is stepping away from the project The Lincoln Lawyer after creative differences between him and Lakeshore Entertainment. Jones has been set to direct and co-star with Matthew McConaughey in the Lakeshore Entertainment adaptation of the Michael Connelly novel (Variety). That means that Lakeshore is already fast on the hunt for another director and actor despite this pretty big setback.

Jones’ latest movie is in the middle of post-production on a film called The Company Men. The story centers on a year in the life of three men trying to survive a round of corporate downsizing at a major company – and how that affects them, their families, and their communities. The John Wells directed film has a to be announced 2010 release date.
