The film is an adaptation of Joe Hill’s novel of the same name. It seems LaBeouf is not only attached to star but he will be apart of the development as well. Keith Bunin is set to adapt the novel for the screen. The character LaBeouf will play is Ig Perrish who wakes up one day from a black-out hang over to find he has grown horns on his head. Cathy Schulman who is producing for Mandalay has this to say: “Shia is an extremely gifted actor who responded to this novel with total enthusiasm from the beginning. We share a passion to bring the iconic character of Ig Perrish to life.”

Sure, everyone including Shia LaBeouf disliked Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but rumors of a fifth film have been there ever since that film opened. Cinematical has a scoop from an “inside source” about a fifth film-possibly done right.

“Harrison Ford has agreed to come back as the archaeologist and adventurer one more time, and will be given an “emotional and exciting” sendoff: “Harrison is on stand-by for filming next year. This looks like … an emotional and exciting conclusion to the franchise, with Indy facing his biggest challenge yet.”

Look for more as the source claims the fifth film will be shooting next year. “George [Lucas] and Steven [Spielberg] have been working on a script and it’s almost there. Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy’s son, but this will be a blockbuster made in the old-fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie.” This film will ditch the alien angle and deal with the Bermuda Triangle.

Exciting? Uninterested? Spielberg has been really quite as a director as of late, so maybe he was just hard at work on this, outside of his executive producer role on HBO’s The Pacific.

Sure, the film “nuked the fridge” and audiences treated it like a step-child to a once, great series (actually, it still is), but what about the people involved? Shia LaBeouf, while at Cannes this weekend, for whatever reason decided to damn Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, as he was promoting Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

“I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished…If I was going to do it twice, my career was over. So this was fight-or-flight for me.” Granted, the film made a ton of cash at the box office, but I think many would point fingers at plenty of other issues that hurt the film, like say, Lucas’ script or those laughing ground squirrels. Just sayin’.

He continues: “I think the audience is pretty intelligent. I think they know when you’ve made (slop). And I think if you don’t acknowledge it, then why do they trust you the next time you’re promoting a movie…We [Harrison Ford and LaBeouf] had major discussions. He wasn’t happy with it either. Look, the movie could have been updated. There was a reason it wasn’t universally accepted….We need to be able to satiate the appetite. I think we just misinterpreted what we were trying to satiate.”

Finally, “You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven [Spielberg, who directed]. But the actor’s job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn’t do it. So that’s my fault. Simple,” concludes Shia.

Hey, whatever. I would rather have Lucas apologize. The goofy film still exists, but maybe we should give LaBeouf the benefit of doubt now days. Look for him in Wall Street‘s sequel this September and in Transformers 3 next summer.

Dante Ariola will be directing the script penned by Matt Drake (Project X). Producing the film is William Horberg with Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger from Bona Fide Productions.

In the film, Charlie Countryman (LaBeouf) was just a normal guy… until he fell in love with the one girl who will probably get him killed. When Charlie meets the absolutely irresistible Gabi she’s already been claimed by Nigel, an insanely violent crime boss with a gang of thugs at his disposal. Armed with little more than his wit and naïve charm, Charlie endures one bruising beat down after another to woo Gabi and keep her out of harm’s way. Finally his exploits of blind valor create such a mess that he’s left with only one way out; to save the girl of his dreams, must Charlie Countryman die? (Coming Soon)

Shia LaBeouf will be co-starring with Michael Douglas in the anticipated Oliver Stone sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, set to be released this September 24th from Twentieth Century Fox.

Varitey is reporting that Kevin Dunn and Julie White will be reprising their roles in Michael Bay’s upcoming Transformers 3.:

“Thesps Kevin Dunn and Julie White have closed their deals to return in the roles of Ron Witwicky and Judy Witwicky, respectively, and reunite with leads Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox.”

I never really minded Kevin Dunn’s character, but it’s Julie White as Judy that has me worried about what Bay has in store for us. In the previous film, Bay had the character running around Sam’s (Shia LeBeouf) college eating pot brownies, and in the first film there was the masturbation joke. So one can only speculate what she’ll be doing this time around. The film is currently in pre-production and is scheduled to begin shooting this May.

Transformers 3 is set to hit theatres on July 1, 2010.

The Brian K. Vaughan and Pia Guerra comic Y: The Last Man has been floundering back and forth in development for some time. For awhile Transformers star Shia LaBeouf was attached to take on the lead role of Yorick Brown, the last man on earth still living with his pet monkey Ampersand after a plague suddenly wipes out every male mammal from the planet. Quickly he jumped off the project, making an excuse to Wizard Magazine that Yorick’s character was too close personality-wise to the character Sam (from Transformers). You can argue that if you want, especially if you’ve read the comics and know the clear differences. Ever since then, the feature has been dead in the water, that is until now.

Latino Review reports that New Line Cinema are breathing life back into the project again with Clash of the Titans director Louis Leterrier circling the director’s chair. He’s had previous directorial experience with comic book adapted features with Marvel Studios’ The Incredible Hulk, so this could possibly be a good choice. Then again, this is all part of the rumor mill, but let’s open it up to you.

Would you like to see Louis Leterrier direct Y: The Last Man, or would you want somebody else taking the reigns on this New Line Cinema project?

Greed is good, and so is the brand new trailer that just came out from the upcoming Oliver Stone directed feature Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. The feature stars the talents of Michael Douglas along with Shia LaBeouf, Frank Langella, Carey Mulligan and many more.

Emerging from a lengthy prison stint, Gordon Gekko finds himself on the outside of a world he once dominated. Looking to repair his damaged relationship with his daughter, Gekko forms an alliance with her fiancé Jacob (Shia LaBeouf), and Jacob begins to see him as a father figure. But Jacob learns the hard way that Gekko – still a master manipulator and player – is after something very different from redemption.

Right down below is the official first teaser trailer from IMDB for the Twentieth Century Fox feature along with a brand spanking new poster that shows off LaBeouf and Douglas in their sharpest suits.

Yes, I’m well aware that the real title of the Oliver Stone sequel is Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps. Anyways, since this particular feature is set to be released on April 23rd of this year, here’s several new pictures that just cropped up from Coming Soon to remind us that this film exists.

As the global economy teeters on the brink of disaster, a young Wall Street trader (Shia LaBeouf) partners with disgraced former Wall Street corporate raider Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) on a two-tiered mission: To alert the financial community to the coming doom, and to find out who was responsible for the death of the young trader’s mentor.

The feature clearly stars Michael Douglas back in his famous 1987 role of Mr. Gekko along with Shia LaBeouf, Josh Brolin, Carey Mulligan and Frank Langella. The Twentieth Century Fox feature comes out in theaters, as previously stated, on April 23rd.:

Since the third installment of the popular toy line turned film franchise is set to be released on July 1rst, 2011, it looks like the summer blockbuster series is right on track. That means once again next summer not only will you see robots beating the living hell out of each other but Michael Bay will find some excuse to blow things up (not Shia LaBeouf’s hand again I hope) once again with Megan Fox bouncing around in random scenes.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a box office success, bringing in $834 Million worldwide despite the huge wave of negative critical comments that came up from the way-too-long sequel to the hit 2007 feature. Once production starts there will surely be more things coming along, especially a plot synopsis which does not exist at the moment.

John Hillcoat’s current directorial project The Promised Land had a couple of good things going for it. The first was Hillcoat himself, who’s 2009 film The Road has been garnering quite some attention which made his newest project seem all the more appealing. Then we go onto the cast which included the talents of Ryan Gosling, Shia LaBeouf, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Scarlett Johansson and Paul Dano. This could end up being a good film if done properly, a great novel adaptation of sorts, but instead it’s the complete opposite.

In Hillcoat’s last production diary for The Road he reveals the fate of The Promised Land. Read the snippet below from The Playlist.:

“The joke on set and in the edit suite was that we had to get ["The Road"] out before it became a reality. Ironically, the movie industry itself now faces its own apocalypse. The perfect storm has arrived in Hollywood: a global economic downturn combined with piracy and the increase of downloading on the internet – what happened to the record companies years ago but with much higher stakes. The reactionary first phase has kicked in – few films in development, many films put on hold or shut down.

My own new project – with a much-loved script by Nick Cave and a dream all-star cast – has fallen apart. The finance company that we began The Road with has also fallen apart, having to radically downsize to one remaining staff member. The great divide has begun, with only very low-budget films being made or huge 3-D franchise films – the birth of brand films such as Barbie, Monopoly: The Movie – who knows what’s next, Coca-Cola: The Movie?

I end the year appropriately – gazing into the apocalypse of my own industry.”

Disappointed? Relieved? Do not care? Let us know what you think, we are curious.

The John Hillcoat directed movie has not only supposedly gone through a change of the title but also who is in the movie. Shia LaBeouf and Ryan Gosling are both in the movie, but what was not highly known is who the female lead actually was. Originally Scarlett Johansson was set to be in the Millennium Films and Nu Image feature but with the newly discovered poster from Collider it appears that Amy Adams is on board instead.

The project would star LaBeouf and Gosling as brothers wrapped up in Depression-era prohibition bootlegging (JoBlo). There is a to be announced 2010 release date.
