This is not the case when it comes to the once-upon-a-time possibility of Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor’s Ride being made. One of the thanks goes to the box office disappointment that Old Dogs became, along with the cleaning of house that Rich Ross has been doing. A couple of days ago we reported that Wedding Banned got the ax, and it seems to be the newest trend in the Mouse House.

The strangest thing about this situation is that not only was the original cast lined up to end up being in this picture again but the top reason why it got scrapped. Even though the feature was under Disney’s Touchstone Pictures, the understanding in the community is that getting a production start on a Mouse House film will be a huge challenge if it doesn’t squarely fit the Disney family branded model (Variety).

With the word ‘bachelor’ in the title of the now-dead film, you had to assume that a little bit of bachelor party would have some what been pushing it for Disney. Then again it makes you wonder what Rich Ross really has in store for Disney.

In the most recent of moves from Walt Disney Pictures in their live action department, the upcoming romantic comedy Wedding Banned is no more. “Banned” revolves around a long-divorced couple (Williams and Keaton) who kidnap their daughter (Faris) on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did. The parents rekindle their relationship as they elude cops and the angry groom (THR).

No exact word on why this particular piece ended up getting canned, but it is one of many moves that Rich Ross has made ever since taking control of his new post. Walt Disney Pictures has recently started re-working the story for The Black Hole and also acquired the rights to the novel series Fallen.

It looks like Walt Disney Pictures is steering 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea away from actual production as they announced not only is it on a halt but director McG jumped ship too. Here’s information on this latest development from Variety:

The studio confirmed that it won’t proceed with the film for now, and reps for the director confirmed he has withdrawn. While names like Will Smith were rumored as possible stars, no cast was ever set. The project had been on a fast track under the Dick Cook regime. Studio sez event pics like “20,000 Leagues,” “John Carter of Mars” and “Tron” are still priority under new chief Rich Ross.

The Terminator Salvation director is currently in the middle of pre-production of the big screen version of the hit Broadway musical Spring Awakening and is rumored to be attached to the fifth movie in the Terminator franchise. Since the film is, at the moment, on the auction block, it is completely indefinite when that particular project will go under production.
