This feature, under Universal Pictures, tells the story of a band of samurai swordsmen who avenge the death of their master in 18th century Japan (Variety). The film will be produced by Pam Abdy and Scott Stuber under Stuber Pictures with Chris Morgan penning the script. Morgan’s previous written work includes Fast and Furious, the fourth film to the illegal race car driving franchise.

Rinsch, believe it or not, was previously in talks to direct the prequel to the Ridley Scott film Alien for awhile. No word yet on when exactly this particular picture is going to start up production.
