Terrence Howard latches himself onto the project Winnie, the Equinoxe Films feature that already stars Jennifer Hudson. The picture, written by Darrell Roodt and Andre Pieterse, centers on the story of Winnie Mendela who was Nelson Mandela’s former wife. Howard will be taking on the role of Nelson Mandela.

Roodt not only co-wrote the script but is sitting in the director’s chair for the production that will commence filming May 31rst in Cape Town, says THR. Howard will be appearing on the big screen in a couple of features this year which include the inspirational Anthony Hemingway feature Red Tails and the Predrag Antonijevic thriller Little Murder.

After months of presumption of quality over director Clint Eastwood’s upcoming Oscar-potential film “Invictus”, today the trailer finally arrives. It tells the story of Nelson Mandela, played by Morgan Freeman, and his efforts to unite his country. “Invictus” opens in theaters nationwide on December 11th and is written by Anthony Peckham of “Don’t Say A Word” fame.
