Kelly’s Wonder Woman series. The project had trouble finding a network to air the series, and was briefly delayed (here), but NBC decided to give the show another chance (here). However, it looks like that network has once again passed on the show, according to Entertainment Weekly. No reason was given, but reports are the pilot didn’t test well and the backlash against the costume (here) only hurt the show more. The crew went back and made changes (here), but that still didn’t help. It’s unknown if WB will continue to shop the show around, but it doesn’t seem likely that we get to see the pilot episode.

We then saw another costume that was closer to the costume fans love (here), but still not quite there. But fear not as NBC President Robert Greenblatt told TV Line that we’ll see the classic costume in the series. “There was an initial outcry about the long pants – you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts [worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series]. But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale (played by Elizabeth Hurley),” he said.

It seems Wonder Woman will be going through the same process of finding her outfit as shown in many other comic book adaptations such as Batman Begins, Spider-man, and Iron Man. But can this series still live up to the original series featuring Lynda Carter? Maybe, maybe not, but Greenblatt isn’t too worried about it. “There’s always critiques of everything. If we listen to all of that, we would probably never be able to get the job done. David’s a great writer… and I actually think he’ll bring an intelligence to [the show] that other … writers might not. I think it’s going to be interesting to see it cut together,” he said.

Well, not really, but the character could be making a cameo in NBC’s upcoming Wonder Woman reboot. A casting agent has seemingly told Moviehole that Wonder Woman is “chasing one of the suspected bad guys onto Hollywood Boulevard – near the Chinese Theater. She has a run-in with a fake Iron Man and then a Wonder Woman performer – in her fifties”. Sounds like it would a fun cameo. It’s just proof of what Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) told Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) in Iron Man about a bigger world of superheroes.

Although, it’ll be quite a while (if ever) until we see Stark hit on Wonder Woman.

Now, the pilot episode is just about the get a director, and fans can rest easy as it’s not McG, who was in talks for the job (here). Deadline Hollywood is reporting that Jeffrey Reiner (Friday Night Lights, Carpica) is finalizing a deal to direct the premiere episode for NBC.

The series will feature Diana Prince/Wonder Woman as a “vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.” No word on casting or when the series will premiere, and fans should hope soon as Smallville ends in May (here). However, we should hear something soon enough.

Well it seems NBC who originally passed on the show have now actually picked it up. So it seems this coming fall we may get to see Wonder Woman back in a live action tv series again.

The report said that NBC originally passed on it, however “that was before the new regime was officially in place in light of the impending Comcast takeover. Robert Greenblatt is now spearheading primetime as chairman.”

The main issue apparently holding anyone back from picking up the series is the budget, however sources say that this spin isn’t campy and a serious take on the character. I guess it wont be long till casting is underway and we’ll find out just who will play the title role.

Well, that’s not what the movie gods are saying but that’s certainly what the studios have been barking at one another for awhile. Ivan Reitman’s latest directorial project was called Friends With Benefits (previously entitled Fuckbuddies). Nothing wrong with that, right? That’s until you also add in that Screen Gems’ other upcoming picture is called Friends With Benefits. Now you definitely see the problem here.

After a bunch of complaining and tugging, it looks like Paramount has ceased fire with Screen Gems in order to capture the title. Now, only the Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake co-starring feature is entitled Friends With Benefits while Ivan Reitman’s untitled romantic comedy is just that, no title at the moment. At least now there’s not going to be any more confusion as to which production we’re talking about.

But wait a minute, isn’t there an NBC sitcom that’s coming out called Friends with Benefits? Why yes there is, and so the great debacle of lack of creativity in titles continues on. Here’s a snippet more of this ongoing ‘battle’ of sorts (via EW).:

An NBC spokesperson tells EW.com that the series title is locked and they are expecting the feature to change its name. Screen Gems contends that due to its production schedule, they don’t expect an issue to arise.

At this point it’s highly doubtful that Friends With Benefits will go straight to the NBC sitcom, mainly due to the fact that the Will Gluck directed film will start principal photography this July. Then again, when you think about it, what’s with the sudden fascination for ‘friends with benefits’ centered story lines? Is everyone in Hollywood finally opening embracing something that probably sticks throughout the town like a bad rash? Possibly, but let’s see if audiences are ready to see that kind of stuff on the big and small screen in full force next year.

If McHale ends up on the film, he’ll be part of a cast that includes Chris Evans, Zachary Quinto and Andy Samberg.

“Number” centers on a woman (Faris) who treks through her sexual past to find Mr. Right, exploring the idea of sexual quotas and whether such numbers matter. McHale is playing Faris’ mildly charming boss, whom she accidentally sleeps with, causing her to begin a wild goose chase to find the one that got away (THR).

McHale can currently be seen on the hit television comedy series Community on NBC.

On Michael Bay’s website (from JoBlo), the director announced that John Malkovich, Frances McDormand and Ken Jeong have all climbed onboard the action/adventure feature.

Along with that, Bay announced a couple of other things in regards to development of the feature.:

We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month. …I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.

No other information has been released in regards to who or what all three of those actors will be, and even more so how big of a part they have in the film. You can see Malkovich on the big screen this summer in Jonah Hex, and you can see Jeong in the hit show Community on NBC. Transformers 3 is expected to come out on July 1rst of 2011.
