It seems Wonder Woman will be going through the same process of finding her outfit as shown in many other comic book adaptations such as Batman Begins, Spider-man, and Iron Man. But can this series still live up to the original series featuring Lynda Carter? Maybe, maybe not, but Greenblatt isn’t too worried about it.  “There’s always critiques of everything. If we listen to all of that, we would probably never be able to get the job done. David’s a great writer… and I actually think he’ll bring an intelligence to [the show] that other … writers might not. I think it’s going to be interesting to see it cut together,” he said.

Although, it’ll be quite a while (if ever) until we see Stark hit on Wonder Woman.

There’s no word on when filming will begin just yet, but word is April is the most likely date.

Update: Bleeding Cool is hearing the identity of Hurley’s character is Veronica Cale.

The series will feature Diana Prince/Wonder Woman as a “vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.” No word on casting or when the series will premiere, and fans should hope soon as Smallville ends in May (here). However, we should hear something soon enough.

The report said that NBC originally passed on it, however “that was before the new regime was officially in place in light of the impending Comcast takeover. Robert Greenblatt is now spearheading primetime as chairman.”

The main issue apparently holding anyone back from picking up the series is the budget, however sources say that this spin isn’t campy and a serious take on the character. I guess it wont be long till casting is underway and we’ll find out just who will play the title role.

After a bunch of complaining and tugging, it looks like Paramount has ceased fire with Screen Gems in order to capture the title. Now, only the Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake co-starring feature is entitled Friends With Benefits while Ivan Reitman’s untitled romantic comedy is just that, no title at the moment. At least now there’s not going to be any more confusion as to which production we’re talking about.

But wait a minute, isn’t there an NBC sitcom that’s coming out called Friends with Benefits? Why yes there is, and so the great debacle of lack of creativity in titles continues on. Here’s a snippet more of this ongoing ‘battle’ of sorts (via EW).:

An NBC spokesperson tells EW.com that the series title is locked and they are expecting the feature to change its name. Screen Gems contends that due to its production schedule, they don’t expect an issue to arise.

At this point it’s highly doubtful that Friends With Benefits will go straight to the NBC sitcom, mainly due to the fact that the Will Gluck directed film will start principal photography this July. Then again, when you think about it, what’s with the sudden fascination for ‘friends with benefits’ centered story lines? Is everyone in Hollywood finally opening embracing something that probably sticks throughout the town like a bad rash? Possibly, but let’s see if audiences are ready to see that kind of stuff on the big and small screen in full force next year.

“Number” centers on a woman (Faris) who treks through her sexual past to find Mr. Right, exploring the idea of sexual quotas and whether such numbers matter. McHale is playing Faris’ mildly charming boss, whom she accidentally sleeps with, causing her to begin a wild goose chase to find the one that got away (THR).

McHale can currently be seen on the hit television comedy series Community on NBC.

“Jimmy has many talents. He can sing, he can dance, he does impersonations, and he does it gracefully and with ease,” said executive producer Don Mischer. “I think he’ll make a terrific host and we are really looking forward to working with him.”

The Emmys are set to air August 29 at 8 p.m ET and at 5 p.m PT on NBC.

Along with that, Bay announced a couple of other things in regards to development of the feature.:

We are going to shoot in LA, Chicago, Washington DC, Florida, Texas, Africa, Moscow, and China. We start shooting pre-shoots in about one month. …I announced that night the newest Autobot to join Transformers: the Ferrari 458 Italia.

No other information has been released in regards to who or what all three of those actors will be, and even more so how big of a part they have in the film. You can see Malkovich on the big screen this summer in Jonah Hex, and you can see Jeong in the hit show Community on NBC. Transformers 3 is expected to come out on July 1rst of 2011.

The Smurfs will be produced by Jordan Kerner (Charlotte’s Web) and directed by Raja Gosnell (Scooby-Doo and Beverly Hills Chihuahua). The script was written by J. David Stem and David N. Weiss (Shrek 2 and Jimmy Neutron) and is being “polished” by Audrey Wells (George of the Jungle). Details of the storyline have not been released. Rumored actors for the film are John Lithgow as Gargamel and Julia Sweeney.

The Smurfs are best known in the U.S for the long-running Hanna-Barbera cartoon TV series which ran as part of NBC‘s Saturday-morning lineup from 1981-1990.

Online audition videos are currently being accepted for the roles of an 8-10 year old female named Sophie and a 13-16 year old male, Sophie’s brother Sam. More info on these characters as well as access to script sides and audition video submission instructions can be found at www.backstage.com.
