Holy Buckets, We’ve Forgotten Your Cinemash Fix!

Ok, so, I was in Texas a few weeks ago. Due to the lack of internet, (and the difficulty to traditionally post on an iPhone,) the Cinemash updates were overlooked. So, over the course of the past three weeks, I’ve missed two of Mean Magazine’s Cinemashes.

The first is rapper Common and Christopher Mintz-Plasse taking on Training Day. Mintz-Plasse is better known as McLovin from Superbad. Sad, I know, but that’s the only thing I know him from. It’s pretty decent. It’s not awesome, it’s not horrid. Just decent.

The second is Will Arnett and … Xavier… the renegade angel… as classic crazy Carrie. Regardless of how well Arnett performed, [adult swim]‘s Xavier just ruins it for me. I find that Xavier’s fifteen-minute show makes me want to throttle my television and burn the remnants.

The fuel that Cinemash had is all but gone. The Carrie mashup doesn’t mention the next episode, and it is Tuesday, so one can only assume that there may not be another one.

Milo Ventimiglia Cinemashes ‘Oldboy’

Well, it’s Tuesday, and that means that Mean Magazine’s back at it with another Cinemash. This week brings us Milo Ventimiglia doing the Oldboy thing to a bunch of AIG suits.

Well, this one breaks the last few weeks of mediocre high school-quality acting. Next week Cinemash is at it again with Common and Christopher Mintz-Plasse in Training Day.

Channing Tatum and Charlyne Yi Dirty Dance

Well, it’s Tuesday again, and that means Mean Magazine has delivered another Cinemash. This week brings Channing Tatum and Charlyne Yi together to tackle the 80′s classic Dirty Dancing.

Unlike the other three episodes thus far, I wasn’t even excited for this one. I’m not a fan of either Channing Tatum or Charlyne Yi. I’m also not a fan of Dirty Dancing. The movie, mind you. I did find myself chuckling at the “balancing” bit, though. But, for those who are fans of the actors, or the movie, enjoy.

Cinemash comes back next week with Milo Ventmiglia, of Heroes fame, doing what they do with Oldboy.

Cheech and Chong Meet Tron!

As promised, Mean Magazine’s Cinemash delivered on Cheech and Chong’s Tron Cinemash today. Unlike the Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Sid and Nancy Cinemash last week, this one takes the notorious Cheech and Chong and is merely a look at what seems to be a normal conversation between the two about something near and dear to them.

Ok, maybe it’s not a normal conversation, and it’s definitely not expected of the two – Well, unless you’re Kevin Smith – but it’s got Tron in it! Next week promises Reno 911! and Human Giant give the Cinemash treatment to Point Break.

This little project has gotten pretty neat. Hopefully the cats at Mean Magazine can keep this going for a little bit.

Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt take a turn as ‘Sid and Nancy’

Beauty Zooey Deschanel and long-hair Joseph Gordon-Levitt recently recreated one of their favorite scenes from 1986′s Sid and Nancy. This comes from Mean Magazine’s Cinemash, a video project which takes famous stars and mashes them into remakes of famous (or in this case, infamous) scenes from iconic movies, ranging from cult classics to Academy-renowned masterpieces. Today is the start of the video project, and they chose a rather interesting piece.
You can see the whole bit on MSN. Mind you it’s uncensored, so it’s very NSFW.

This particular scene suggestion comes from the upcoming 500 Days of Summer, wherein Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt have a conversation comparing the two to the famous couple.

Hopefully these will keep coming and will continue to be awesome. Next week’s clip promises to be Cheech and Chong mashing a scene from Tron and in the future Milo Ventimiglia cinemashing Oldboy, so it looks pretty promising. Fox Searchlight brings up-and-comer Marc Webb’s 500 Days of Summer to theaters everywhere starting on July 17th.
