Along with that, we get a couple of brand new set pictures, along with one of a very bundled up George Clooney. To give you a better viewpoint of what exactly this thriller is about, keep on reading.

Alone among assassins, Jack (Clooney) is a master craftsman. When a job in Sweden ends more harshly than expected for this American abroad, he vows to his contact Larry (Bruce Altman) that his next assignment will be his last. Jack reports to the Italian countryside, where he holes up in a small town and relishes being away from death for a spell. The assignment, as specified by a Belgian woman, Mathilde (Thekla Reuten), is in the offing as a weapon is constructed. Surprising himself, Jack seeks out the friendship of local priest Father Benedetto (Paolo Bonacelli) and pursues romance with local woman Clara (Violante Placido). But by stepping out of the shadows, Jack may be tempting fate.

This latest novel adaptation, originally written by Martin Booth, is set to come out in theaters under Focus Features on September 1rst.:

Well, instead of sitting you through a two or so hour long film, we bring you the first image (from Film School Rejects) of him starring in Anton Corbijn’s The American. The novel this film is based off of is written by Martin Booth and stars Clooney as an assassin who hides out in Italy in order to finish one last assignment. While in hiding, he gets a bit too comfortable and could be putting himself in harm’s way. The thriller comes out sometime in 2010.
