Movies presents to us the full length trailer for the live action and CGI-animation hybrid film Marmaduke. The feature includes the voice talents of Owen Wilson, Ron Perlman, Emma Stone and Jeremy Piven with the flesh and blood performances from Judy Greer, Lee Pace and William H. Macy.

For Phil and Debbie Winslow, moving their family from Kansas to the O.C. is a big deal. For their enormous Great Dane “Marmaduke” (Wilson), however, the move means a whole new way of life. It’s chaos at home and awkward at work as the Winslows struggle to control their angsty teenage canine.

Yes people, that is the actual synopsis (believe it or not). Need further proof? Then watch the trailer below for the film. The Tom Dey directed film is expected to be released on June 4th in theaters everywhere from Twentieth Century Fox.:

Kate Walsh and Jeremy Piven are joining up on the Gaby Dellal directed picture. Walsh and Piven both join up on the big cast that includes Thomas Dekker, Mira Sorvino, Elizabeth McGovern, Joseph Morgan and Lynn Collens. Story centers on a young father who loses his son, throwing the community into disarray at the time of Waska — the first snowfall of the year, which is magical but often treacherous (Variety).

Filming is currently underway with a possible late 2010 to early 2011 release date. Walsh will be appearing in the fantasy thriller Legion that will be out January 22nd. Jeremy Piven is going back into the voice acting chair as he lends it to the animation and live action hybrid film Marmaduke. If Jeremy Piven is possibly headlining so-to-speak this comedy this reporter really won’t expect much from this one trick pony of an actor.

The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard is one of those movies that blows its load in its trailer. All of the good jokes were in the short preview, making the flick look like it was going to be a winner, when in reality it was awful. The flick had the right ingredients to become a solid funny picture, but sadly it was just weak picture that wasn’t all that funny.

In The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard Jeremy Piven is Don Ready, a maverick used car salesman that lives for the thrill of the sale. Piven and his team, which includes Ving Rhames, David Koechner, and Kathryn Hahn, are hired by Ben Selleck (James Brolin) to help him move all the cars on his lot in three days or his arch enemy, Stu Harding (Alan Thicke) is allowed to buy the dealership out from under him.

This flick could have been comedy gold with all the heavy hitters that were involved, but it missed the mark by a mile. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are credited as producers on the flick, but the flick doesn’t have the same charm that their usual brand of comedy does. First time director, Neal Brennan stitched together a watchable movie, but not the funny movie that I was expecting. The jokes are weak and the actors looked out of place (especially Will Ferrell in his small role). Multiple times I found myself looking at my watch because of boredom.

Jeremy Piven is a solid actor and so are the rest of the cast, so I can only assume that the flick was the victim of bad decisions on behalf of the filmmaker or studio interference. Either way The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard was not very good, and definitely not a killer film.

Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars
