Why? His father’s name has been removed from the opening credits, which once saw “Moustapha Akkad presents” followed by the familiar credit sequence.

“It’s disgusting. It’s a disgrace, obviously, bias, objectively, any horror fan would find this as an insult to the man who has done so much to the series. And to come after his tragic death, he’s not even around to defend himself. It’s classless. I’m talking to Universal now and they’re ‘looking into it’.”

Thoughts?

No, no, not the Rob Zombie directed sequel, but the original 1981 sequel. The film was directed by Rick Rosenthal, and was written by John Carpenter. For its 30th Anniversary, Universal is finally ponying up and giving the film some extra features including an alternative ending and Terror in the Aisles.

Terror in the Aisles is a 1984 compilation documentary of various movie clips, and hasn’t been available since its VHS release years ago. And as a nice cherry on top of this excellent release, the audio mix will be in DTS 5.1.

Halloween II was always one of my favorite sequels in the series, sorry Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. Look for this release on September 13th.

Picking one will help him decided what film to direct next after his current tour wraps. The choices? Werewolf Women of the SS, The Blob remake, Tyrannosaurus Rex and The Devils Rejects 2. Wait, what? Hey, we love that film through and through, but didn’t they all die?

Zombie could be testing waters here, just for fun and to see where to take his film career next, after a critical and audience hatred for Halloween II. Go vote and post below in a comment what you chose and why!

Welcome to Killer Film’s New Release Tuesday for January 12th! Order from Amazon.com by clicking on the cover art!

The Hurt Locker

The movie ever critic loves, is actually worthy of the praise. A war film about war junkies, with a superb performance by Jeremy Renner. A must! (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Buy Donny says: Rent

Moon

You want a return to smart, dramatic science-fiction? Here you go with a film that doesn’t need CG to be beautiful and features an excellent story, grounded in reality, making Duncan’s debut a winner. (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Buy Donny says: Buy

Rob Zombie’s Halloween II

RZ literally didn’t do anything special with Michael, and the film wastes a great performance by Scout-Taylor Compton. Universally panned, except for our Donny Broussard. Okay, sorry boss, but don’t get mad because I need this job. Economy is bad for writers now. (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Avoid Donny says: Buy

In the Loop

The much-praised comedy finally comes out, after a successful theatrical run. (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent

Big Fan

From the writer of the Wrestler, comes another sports story, but this time a dark humored take on being a fan. (Formats: DVD only) Jon says: Buy Donny says: Rent

The Brothers Bloom

It was an exclusive for a while at other stores, but now all can see the Rian Johnson film that earned mixed notices. Those who loved it, loved it, however. (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Rent Donny says: Buy

Downloading Nancy

The dark indie drama missed my market, so I’m eager to check this out. I love all things Ms. Bello. (Formats: DVD only) Jon says: Rent Donny says: Buy

Tyler Perry’s I Can Do Bad All by Myself

Perry knows his market, and his films are profitable. ‘Nuff said. (Formats: Blu-ray/DVD) Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent

It’s that time of year again. As a critic, it’s our job to try to accurately critique a film, and throughout the hundreds of films we see, there are going to be some stinkers, if you will. Sad, but true. Now, remember this list is only of the films I have seen, and even though I have seen hundreds of films, there might be some I have missed. There’s also no sense in ranking these films, since they all are pretty awful, so I’ve alphabetized them instead. Here’s my Worst Films of 2009, all of which I hope you avoid.

The Final Destination

Even with the gimmick of 3-D and the return of Final Destination 2‘s director David Ellis, this film was a complete disaster. The plot was barely there, the look of the film felt like a bad SyFy channel movie, and even worse is the script. The script is filled with not only horrible dialogue, generic kills, one dimensional characterization, but depressingly bad stereotypes of African-African characters. They are never once called by their name, only their job title, and a bum character tells the white hero he saved the day. Ouch, and ugly. Truly the final destination for this franchise. (Read the original review here.)

G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

I’ll say positive thing about this train wreck: it has the makings of one fine Rifftrack. Horrible CG, goofy dialogue, and a over-the-top performances make this possibly fun idea, into a bad film. Why is there a slew of flashbacks? Drink a shot every time one happens, it’s the G.I. Joe drinking game! Even for nostalgia purposes, it’s a waste. (Read the original review here.)

Halloween II

As much as I like Rob Zombie, his music, his genre love, his Haunted World of Superbeasto and Devil’s Rejects, his take on Halloween is a mess. Even though I felt he had some promise for a no holds barred sequel, Zombie again drops the ball, by making a confusing boring slasher. Michael Myers isn’t scary here; he’s a bum-looking man, an interesting angle, yet Zombie never does much with it. The whole mask story of the first film is wasted, as if Zombie felt the need to get rid of the iconic mask. Ugh. The movie is like a visual stick-in-the-mud. (Read the original review here.)

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

It’s nothing but a product for a quick buck, that’s all this unneeded sequel was. The formula is tired, the 3-D was unimpressive, and it’s humor is generic. I don’t doubt that your kids have scratched up the first two films on DVD, so luckily for them, 20th Century Fox made this. How else do you explain the money it made? (Read the original review here.)

The Limits of Control

I don’t understand Jim Jarmusch, and I didn’t understand this spy film. Great performances are wasted in a confusing slapdash of double-speak and aimlessness. A character moves left to right, sits down, speaks a few syllables and leaves. There’s the movie right there. The only thing more tedious than watching this film, is watching paint dry. (Read the original review here.)

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

A lucky direct-to-DVD film that got a theatrical release, we’re treated to some very generic comedy. tons of fat jokes that wear thin fast, a silly plot, predictable, you’d think Kevin James would be in better vehicles for his “routine”, but maybe not. This film was number one at the box office for two straight weeks, making over a $100 million dollars too. People, I thought we were in a Recession? This film came out nearly 11 months ago, and it’s still lingered in my mind with its awfulness. (Read the original review here.)

Pink Panther 2

Steve Martin is better than this. He’s funnier than this. It’s amazing that he’s so unfunny here, that the supporting cast gets a chuckle or two out of us. Same old, same old. At least the wonderful Emily Mortimer makes sitting through this bearable. Hopefully, this rebooted franchise dies, so poor Peter Sellers can stop rolling in his grave. (Read the original review here.)

Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li

The film got little marketing and for a good reason: it’s just plain horrendous. Weak fighting, a plot as deep as a piece of paper, bad casting choices (Chris Klein as a Special Ops dude? Really?!), and one bargain basement explosion FX that sums it all up. Maybe video games aren’t suppose to be made into movies? Here’s a prime example, if we needed another one. (Read the original review here.)

Transylmania

This is an actual direct-to-DVD shown theatrically. Capitalizing on the Twilight craze, we’re treated to a an incredibly stupid film that tries to be like those Disaster Movie spoofs. Like those, it fails, becuase it’s unfocused and worst of all, it’s not funny. Pass. (Read the original review here.)

Year One

Harold Ramis should know better. This film could’ve been way funnier, and judging by the recycled jokes that led to some minor chuckles, one should fear a Ghostbusters 3. Michael Cera and Jack Black are game as cave men, but the religious-based setting isn’t a good idea for some generic jabs at the Old Testament. Not because I’m religious or anything, but it’s ground that isn’t ripe for humor. Or maybe Ramis lost it? That’s more likely.

According to Deadline, the once proposed Halloween 3D is now dead. The reason? Because Bob [Weinstein] “thought is was rushing too fast.” With Patrick Lussier filling in Rob Zombie’s shoes for this, and the quick rush to get into pre-production for a Summer 2010 date, The Weinstein Company has been facing plenty of money issues and layoffs lately.

Also, Halloween II did kind of bum business at the box office, doing half on opening weekend than the first one did. It’s current domestic total is a weak $32 million, exactly what the opening weekend box office was for the remake a few years back! It still seems like a 3D Zombie-less Halloween will come, but in time. Whatever that means.

Welcome to our Roundtable Discussion of Halloween II. Here, Killer Film will analyze Rob Zombie’s film with Donny Broussard, Serena Whitney, and Jon Peters giving their opinions. We hope you’ve seen the film, because this discussion will probably talk about things in the film that will be spoilers for those that haven’t. Now, let the discussion begin!

Jon: Having seen the film first (here), I’ll lead the talking. I want to start with you Donny, since we’ve talked before, and we have wildly different opinions on Halloween II. I thought this was horrible, a certain step back from Zombie’s previous work. This might be one of the worst in the entire Halloween series, in my opinion, outside of Curse of Michael Myers, but you really dug it, Donny. Give us your opinion.

Donny: Alright, first of all, I didn’t love the flick, but I did enjoy it. I didn’t like the new kid that took the place of the awesome Daeg Faerch, and while I didn’t mind ghost-mom, the kid irritated the hell out of me. With all that said, I was quite happy with how brutal Michael Myers is in this flick, and I also enjoyed the new Loomis.

I love slasher movies, and I really do dig Zombie’s style. So the fact that I got to watch Michael Myers kill lots of people was a treat for this horror fan. I personally don’t care that this flick doesn’t follow the previous franchise’s conventions. I was happy that Zombie made his own movie and didn’t try to just remake the previous stinkers. Lets be honest here, most slashers, the Halloween sequels included are not all that great. They offer up a little late night fun and that’s about it.

Jon: Now, we’re polar opposites on this film Donny. Serena, we have similar thoughts on Zombie’s first Halloween film, but we both really like the guy from his music to his films. What did you think of Zombie’s Halloween II how crazy is Donny on this?

Serena: Jon, I was so disappointed by Halloween 2 it wasn’t even funny. The film starts off strong with a frightening prologue that felt reminiscent of the original Halloween 2 from 1980. Unfortunately, Zombie made it very clear that after those 20 minutes were done, any fans of the Halloween series were not going to like the rest of the film as he turns the movie into a music video rather than the sequel fans were promised. Now, I had already gone in the theatre with doubts because I knew Zombie had free reign to do whatever he pleased with this film. I was actually one of those few fans out there that preferred the theatrical cut of the last Halloween film. It was leaner, scarier and it didn’t inject a needless and disturbing gang rape sequence in the mix. (There’s no rape in Haddonfield!) After watching both the workprint and the director’s cut, I knew that the sequel would be all over the place. I just didn’t understand some of the executive decisions made with this project. Why is Sheri Moon Zombie imitating Mrs. Voorhees? Why did he replace the scary young Michael Myers with a random kid with long blond hair? Why did he turn Dr. Loomis into a male Gale Weathers? Halloween 2 was a very pointless sequel in my opinion.

I think Donny’s love for Rob Zombie has glamored him into believing H2 was awesome. lol It’s okay though. At least somebody got something good out of it. I just lost 12.50.

Jon: Okay, now that all of our feelings are out there, let’s start getting into this. Remember back when Zombie said no to a Halloween II, and there was potential the Inside directors, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, were going to do this film. I think they would have made the film way more psychologically interesting, but that’s neither here or there. Now that Zombie’s take on Michael Myers is done, did you like his interpretation of the Shape as a Ted Bundy-like murderer?

Donny: I enjoyed Zombie’s new take on the Shape, but I wouldn’t compare him to Ted Bundy. Bundy won’t come back to life after getting shot in the face. The trouble with sequels, and even more so with remakes, is the fact that most people can’t just enjoy them without comparing every second to the originals. Most slasher flicks are pretty silly, but we watch them anyway. This version of the Shape wasn’t perfect, but he sure did kill a lot of people and that’s what slasher killers are supposed to do. So, Jon if I’m crazy for enjoying a slasher flick then call me crazy sir, and Serena, if anything could have glamored me into enjoying this flick it would have been Zombies hottie wife and she’s completely clothed throughout the entire movie.

Serena: I love Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury and even though they probably would have done a better job with this sequel, this was Zombie’s nut to crack. Unfortunately after the first twenty minutes, I didn’t find Michael Myers scary at all. However, this may be from all the spoiler-heavy trailers the general public was witness to. It pissed me off how the scariest parts in the film (i.e. Danielle Harris’ bathroom scene and the nurse in the hospital sequence) were featured in the highly watched tv spots. He seemed less of an enigma in this film and that’s what makes Michael Myers so scary in the first place.

Jon: Let’s talk about the mask, or about the near non-use of the mask. Zombie built this element in the first film, where Myers hides behind a mask, like a security blanket. Here, he only puts it on when he kills. I don’t get it. The whole homeless look was ridiculous. What about all of this and was this the worst mask since 6?

Serena: What I didn’t like about him not using the mask was the fact that it wasn’t explained how there was no bullet wound in his face. Laurie and Annie have permanent scars on their face, where are his scars? See in the original Halloween films the audience didn’t need an explanation for Michael’s invincibilty. He was the “boogeyman.” In Rob Zombie’s version, Michael is actually a person who has memories, angst and grunts and hollers when he’s stabbing someone. When Zombie personalized Myers, he also took away his invincibility. He should have kept the mask on the whole time, although I do respect the fact that he was trying to change it up a bit with the homeless look…didn’t like it, but I respected it nonetheless.

No mask can be as bad as the mask(s) used in Halloween: 20 Years Later.

Donny: Come on! Shouldn’t a moderator be a little more neutral? Jon, by now everyone in the free world knows you didn’t dig the flick, it’s time to get over it. I could care less if he gives an explanation on why Michael doesn’t have a bullet wound. I just want to watch a slasher killer do what he does best. I’m not saying that a slasher flick doesn’t need to have a solid story, but I do think that years of conditioning have made it alright to bring a dead slasher back without the need for an explanation. I thought the mask looked good, I loved the homeless look, and I would have loved it even more if he would have taken the mask off and thrown the darn thing in the trash.

Jon: Okay, enough bashing for a minute. What did we all like about it? I enjoyed Scout Taylor-Compton a lot in this. She was very good. I also dug some of the lighting, like the one where the farmers come up behind Myers at night to kick his food stealing ass. The shadow of Myers in the headlights was cool, as was the whole Halloween concert sequence.

Serena: I enjoyed Scout Taylor-Compton’s performance in this film a lot more this time too. She wasn’t yapping like a dog or sticking her fingers in and out of bagel holes like she did in the first film and I thought her scene with the psychiatrist at the beginning and her very last scene in the film showed how she is growing as an actress. Unfortunately, I still couldn’t stand her character though. Laurie is a f*cking pain in the ass and she really doesn’t show any “final girl” skills in this film whatsoever. The person that I really enjoyed seeing onscreen was Brad Dourif surprisingly enough. One of Zombie’s smartest moves with this film was developing the Sheriff Brackett character further and Dourif really gave it his all. It made me forget he was the man who played Chucky. lol I also liked the tense stalk and chase sequence in the hospital as well as the scene with Annie getting attacked in the bathroom. Having the violence take place off screen with Annie really amped up the intensity and it made it even that much more disturbing.

Donny: I liked the brutal killing! I liked the hot chicks! I liked the killer music! Oh my goodness, I actually enjoyed a movie. Does that mean I can’t be a critic anymore?

Jon: Back to bashing: I felt the music to Carpenter’s classic is as vital to the character as is the mask, and those are two things Zombie got rid of. What’s with these remakes and not using the music cues? First, Friday the 13th, and now Halloween II. As much as I like Tyler Bates scoring work, am I alone in wishing Carpenter’s score was here?

Donny: I for one wish Zombie wouldn’t have used any of Carpenter’s score, in either one of the flicks. Carpenter’s original will never be beaten, so the best we can hope for is that a filmmaker make the subject his/her own. I say if your going to remake a flick, then throw our everything including the kitchen sink and make your own damn movie. I do love Tyler Bates’ style and enjoyed this score very much.

Serena: I understand why Zombie didn’t want Carpenter’s score in the film, because he wanted to make this “The Devil Rejects” of the Halloween series. In fact, there were scenes when I was thinking the score had been recycled from TDR in the sequel. I personally preferred the lack of use of the score in this film. It didn’t feel like a Halloween movie at all, so it shouldn’t have sounded like one either. When the original score did however come on in the last scene, I felt like I had been bitch slapped across the face.

Jon: I’m thinking Donny feels like a rat in a corner on this. Sorry, bud, you just got a vastly different perspective on this than Serena and I. Final question time: Where does Zombie as a writer/director go from here, and what about this franchise?

Serena: Kill the f*cking franchise already. It’s done. This movie sucked more than Lindsay Lohan on a casting couch. I don’t want to see another sequel. (Especially if it follows “the twist” at the end of this film.) I had written an article a few months ago entitled, Could H2 ruin Rob Zombie’s career? After hearing the news that he’s remaking The Blob, (really? ) I’m afraid my theory may be right. I love Rob Zombie, but I think he got stuck making studio films rather than concentrating on his original material. Halloween 2 made me feel like maybe we have seen all Zombie can show us. I’d like to believe there is still hope.

Donny: While I didn’t love the Halloween remakes, I did enjoy them. But I don’t think Zombie or anyone else should make anymore of them. I also think that Zombie needs to concentrate on writing/directing his own material, and I hope he doesn’t tackle The Blob, another flick that doesn’t need to be remade.

Jon: I think that says all that needs to be said about Rob Zombie’s Halloween II. If you two have anything else to say, go ahead!

Donny: I had a good time at the movies, but I hope Zombie can move on into uncharted territory now this is finished.

Serena: All I have left to say is, ‘why the hell was Weird Al is this movie?’ Random.

That does it for Killer Film’s discussion of the film, but we are just horror nerds with our opinions. Feel free to let us know what you thought, who you agreed with, and anything else, by commenting below!

Muddled by reshoots and studio interference, Rob Zombie’s Halloween was like a gimp trying to run. While there were some interesting angles, those weren’t fully developed, and we got this hybrid of Zombie’s interpretation, with the studios need to deliver on the promise of a Halloween film.

I was willing to give Zombie the benefit of the doubt this time around. Maybe with more control he’ll unleash the Shape into his realized dream of the character. Where would he go with it now? In the first film, he focused on the deterioration of Myers’ mental health. He went from a misunderstood boy, into an emotionless killer. This arc was tripped up by the film’s need to do a shot-by-shot finale of the John Carpenter’s classic. So, in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, would Zombie follow through on the arc of Myers going from a man into the face of fear, the boogeyman, the Shape? Man, I really over-thought Zombie’s ambition here.

Halloween II is absolutely dreadful. It’s continuously stuck in neutral, but Zombie tries to press on the gas. The problem is in the genesis and reasoning of why this film exists. This film is a direct sequel to the theatrical cut of his remake, so forget about the unrated version of that film or the leaked work print that Dimension Films wanted him to recut. At the end of the remake, Laurie Strode in point blank range, blows a round into Myers’ face, blood splattering onto her. Myers is dead. Halloween II starts off a few minutes after that event, but Zombie doesn’t even explain why he looks like no bullet entered into his face.

Ah, something is amidst here. Zombie probably came back to this franchise to ensure the Weinsteins a film, in hopes that they will produce (what I hope) will be an original idea for his next project. The film is a collection of scenes strung together to fill a 95 minute running time. Zombie must have thrown the script together in a hurry, and set up the camera, and said “action!”, all the while not paying attention. Maybe he was focused on a new solo album? There’s no reason why this film lacks a pulse.

Dr. Loomis (a returning Malcolm McDowell) is a degenerate. He has become a full-on cash monger, now prying off the tragedy of the victims in a tell-all new book, that packs a wallop of a secret. How did he come to know of this secret is never mentioned. His presence is stuff of deleted material for the DVD, because his arc and character have no right to take screen time from Laurie Strode’s amazing arc. Scout Taylor-Compton is radiant, delivering a performance in this film that should have been saved for a better movie. The same can be said about Brad Dourif, as he really is good in this film. But back to Loomis. Zombie spends enough time showing his greedy ways, that when he tries to become the hero, it’s out-of-character and completely pointless. Donald Pleasance is likely rolling in his grave from this horrendous arc of the Loomis character, may he rest in peace.

Tyler Bates is slowly becoming an interesting composer that I’m enjoy listening to, but no offense to him, this film just doesn’t feel like a Halloween film, because of Zombie’s disregard for Carpenter’s original-and classic-score. Zombie is just striking out left and right, if this was baseball, he would’ve been sent packing back to the minors.

I really wasn’t expecting much psychoanalysis of the Myers character, just Zombie offering us a new so-called vision, as the ad campaign loves to call his take. His vision is a bastardized version of Halloween 5: Revenge of Michael Myers. Remember when Jaime (Danielle Harris) was morphing into her uncle, Michael Myers in that film, because of some weird kinship connection? That’s Halloween II. Seeing his two Halloween‘s back-to-back one might say the whole Curse of the Thorn is a better arc, than this momma’s boy, who just wants his family back, even if it means death.

What’s even funnier is Zombie contradicts his take on the character in his own film! When Loomis is on a talk show, the host relates Michael Myers to a shark. That’s correct. Zombie’s Myers is a wrecking ball. It comes out of nowhere to kill. Loomis’ response to the host? “No he’s not.” Zombie’s Myers is a man, and there are scenes here that break him out of that mute stage. Listen for grunts as he kills in this film. His rage is on par to criminologists’ take on Ted Bundy. He doesn’t go anywhere with this development. At least Carpenter stuck to his guns about the phantom-like qualities of Myers, even though he was a man..or was he?

Many of the Rob Zombie conventions are hear, and they won’t win over his haters. Sherri Moon is back, the big wanna-be Tarantino dialogue is here too, and don’t forget about his obsession with ripping off The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), because we get mimicked scenes from that. Why doesn’t he just remake that damn thing? Where did the Devil’s Rejects director go? Halloween II is a complete waste of Myers, and our time. It’s devoid of life, scares, or anything resembling a right to exist. I feel as we have been duped by a promising filmmaker with his take on Michael Myers. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers doesn’t look to bad now…

And why, oh why, why, why, was Weird Al Yankovic in this?

Rating: 1.5 out of 5 stars

Rob Zombie has a good ear, and it’s always present on his film’s soundtracks. Halloween II is much like the remake’s soundtrack. We get a collection of great songs, mixed with some score from Tyler Bates, and some dialogue snippets. The songs don’t factor much into this film, as they did in his remake. That’s okay, because the selling point is the songs.

We get some great tracks from The Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin), 10cc (The Things We Do for Love), Motorhead (The Chase is Better than the Catch), and Foghat (I Just Want to Make Love to You). These are great songs, and if you don’t have them yet, they’ve never sounded better on CD. The classic rock songs are his thing. It’s why we call them classics, because they’re timeless. Interestingly enough, is the overall theme of the CD soundtrack here: love. I was curious to see how this subtext would factor into the film, but the final verdict is that it doesn’t.

One really cool cut here is from Nan Vernon, as it is a cover of Nazareth’s Love Hurts. It’s a sorrowful interpretation, one that might take a few listens to appreciate. I found it to be a great cover, even if you get the sense of despair from her voice.

We get a few bits of score here. From House of 1000 Corpses to Devil’s Rejects to Watchmen, Tyler Bates is providing some interesting bits of composition. Using a variety of sounds, with the sparse electronic synthesizer, he adds dread and tension, to a film that is really in need of it. Rob Zombie’s guitarist, John 5, provides a 2 minute theme for Laurie, called Laurie’s Theme, using a piano, it’s a lovely piece, a haunting tribute to her character, especially if you know Halloween II‘s ending.

Also, on note is Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures, a fictional band Zombie helped created for this film, much like Banjo and Sullivan in Devil’s Rejects. While Banjo and Sullivan had some great, comical country songs, Captain Clegg is more like a Misfits copy. They’re okay, but I won’t seek out their CD.

Fans of Rob Zombie will be sad to see no new music from him, but he gives us a good collection of tunes that are easily recommended. If you already have those songs, outside a few score bits, I couldn’t fully recommend it just for that, or for Captain Clegg and the Night Creatures. Check your iTunes library and your big CD collection for the songs from the Moody Blues, Motorhead, and Foghat. If you don’t have them, then this CD soundtrack offers those songs in great crystal clear audio.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Don’t forget to support Killer Film by clicking on the CD cover of the above CD to purchase it from Amazon, because every CD sold from this site sends a little coin our way and that coin helps us stay online.

“Think you’ve got what it takes to carve up Michael Myers? To create your mash-up, start with the assets at the right: video from the movie and audio from Rob Zombie’s remake of the classic Halloween theme.

From there, it’s up to you. Slice up the pieces any way you like, then mash them together with your own content—original footage, stills, instrumentation, animation, effects, etc.—to create a clip that’s 30 seconds to 2 minutes long. Be sure not to include any copyrighted audio or video, and don’t use any unacceptable material (anything that wouldn’t be allowed in a standard “green band” movie trailer).

All entries received by 11:59 PM ET on 9/1/09 will be voted on by Fangoria’s celebrity panel of judges. They’ll be looking for the most creative entry, so get your twisted imagination to work!”

Click here to enter! Halloween II stalks cinemas soon on August 28th, and be sure to come back then for our reviews of the film and the soundtrack!

Both having been penciled in for theatrical release dates of August 28th for some time now and it seems that Dimension Films has landed the first marketing blow with a new TV spot entitled “Final Destiny”.
