This week will see the release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (June 30th) and M. Night Shymalan’s The Last Airbender (July 1st).

Shannon plays the deceptively affable cop with a violent temper. Chung would play Gordon-Levitt’s ex, a fellow daredevil bike messenger who helps him outwit the cop (THR). No word yet on when filming will start.

Chung has appeared in several films as of recent including Dragonball: Evolution and Sorority Row. She’ll be seen once more in the Adam Sandler starring comedy Grown Ups, set to come out in theaters everywhere this June 25th. You can see Michael Shannon on the big screen in Warner Bros Pictures’ Jonah Hex, in theaters now.

Dugan has another directed film of his coming out in theaters soon, and that’s the latest comedy entitled Grown Ups. Adam Sandler stars along with Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade and Rob Schneider. Grown Ups comes out in theaters on June 25th from Columbia Pictures.

Get Him to the Greek

Jon: So you take two of the lamest characters from the very good Forgetting Sarah Marshall and make this forced sequel with them? Pass. Skip it.

Donny: I’m not impressed with the trailer, but I’m going to give it a chance and see it.

Killers

Jon: Besides having a URL that is strangely close to ours and having the cutie Katherine Heigl, I’m not wanting to see another wanna-be Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Plus, there is another like-minded movie opening this month that looks way better. Skip it.

Donny: I’m not a fan of Katherine Heigl, unless of course she’s gracing the pages of Playboy, so i’m going to Skip it.

Splice

Jon: 2010 has been scatter shot when it comes to genre films, but luckily, this one looks to make us forget that drought. One quarter original, with three-quarters of Species, this film was the buzz at Sundance. Need more of a selling to see it? Executive producer is Guillermo del Toro and we’ve heard the performances are strong. Could be a neat body/biology horror film here. See it.

Donny: What Jon said! See It.

Marmaduke

Jon: Owen Wilson needs to stick with Wes Anderson. “Wow”, is all I thought when I first saw the trailer-in a bad way. This will probably be another lame updating of a nostalgic item that didn’t need updating. Kids will like this, so have fun Donny! Skip it.

Donny: This is one that I’d really LOVE to skip, but I have children, children that LOVE the trailer for this and are counting the day until its release. That means I’m going to see it.

The A-Team

Jon: This looks to be the film we all hoped last summer’s G.I. Joe was going to be. Read: as in fun! I barely remember the television series, but the cast looks great, the action over-the-top crazy, and fun-all key ingredients for a hit summer film. Need more? Word has it that midway through, there’s an action scene that if you don’t like it, then you don’t like action. Yum! See it.

Donny: I usually don’t dig it when Hollywood shits on my childhood, but for some reason I’m excited about seeing this flick. Lets hope it lives up to the expectation. See it.

The Karate Kid

Jon: Loving the first two films as a kid, I understand the need to do another one for a new generation. I think my big problem with this new version, is the age of the kid. Sure, Jaden Smith is cute and can act, but he looks tiny! How can he beat anyone up with those sticks for arms? At least the original Daniel-san was teenage and look like he could handle someone. Jackie Chan seems like an inspired choice for Mr. Han, but I haven’t like much of his American output. And who is the director again? Skip it.

Donny: This is another one that I’d like to skip, but because of my kids I’m going to have to see it.

Toy Story 3

Jon: While I’m not too pleased with Pixar’s upcoming slate of sequels, if one is going to be good, err, great, then it’s this one. IMAX, 3D, whatever, I’m sure we’ll love it. Plus, until now, Pixar hasn’t had a stinker yet. See it.

Donny: When I heard they were doing another Toy Story flick I wasn’t interested in seeing it, but after watching the trailer I changed my mind. See it.

Jonah Hex

Jon: While the post-production issues with new reshoots, the whole rearranging of Mastodon’s score, all worried me, seeing the trailer instilled faith. It looks ballsy, wild, and as our own Jason Bene’ put it, like a big budgeted Brisco County Jr! Plus, Megan Fox-as a prostitute-’nuff said, folks! See it.

Donny: Megan Fox, lots of action, and Megan Fox. See it.

Cyrus

Jon: In limited release and moved up from its July date, is the far better Jonah Hill film in June to see. Looks odd and funny, plus we reviewed the film already here so based on that, See it.

Donny: Solid picture that deserves to be seen. See it.

(June 25th)

Knight and Day

Jon: Forget Killers. This is the spy-out-of-water film to see. Looks funny, action-packed, and Cruise is kinda creepy with his overly good charms. See it.

Donny: I want to see this so bad. I can’t wait to see Cruise kicking ass again! See it.

Grown Ups

Jon: I would say that this looks limp, but I’m sick of people saying I’m anti-comedy. After seeing the trailer countless times, I’m sort of sold. Sort of. Dennis Dugan, the director, has given Adam Sandler a few hits, more so than Mr. Apatow did. Based on that, plus the supporting cast, See it.

Donny: I’m going to let Jon see this one and I’m going to skip it.

Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Jon: Personally, I’m sick of hearing from horror fans that these films suck. Guess what? Not made for you, just like Let the Right One In wasn’t made for the fans of this series. Having said that, the films are average at best. New Moon showed an improvement in quality, so I expect that to continue with David (30 Days of Night, Hard Candy) Slade’s. He’s a good director, so I’m curious to see what he does here. But guys, Skip It (the film and your hate), while you women, enjoy, and See It.

Donny: I have no interest in seeing this flick whatsoever. Skip it.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

The King of Queens actor is appearing in a couple of films this year which include The Zookeeper and Grown Ups. Grown Ups also includes Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek and David Spade. The upcoming Happy Madison Productions and Columbia Pictures film comes out on June 25th.
