This is one of the most painful parts of my job, and that’s when I start seeing some of my favorite films get thrown on the remake slab. This is no exception with Enter the Dragon being the newest to be sacrificed to the remake Hollywood gods. Screen Rant reports that Ninja Assassin star Rain could possibly be filling the Bruce Lee role in the retitled remake Awaken the Dragon. Why is it retitled might you ask? Possibly to try and cover the plain fact that it’s a remake to begin with and not piss off too many people which is very hard not to do in this instance. Screen Rant has more on this developing story.:

Awaken the Dragon has already got The Shield writer/producer Kurt Sutter handling the script, as well as making his directorial debut. The film is said to be changing up the story of the original Enter the Dragon just a bit: it will now be about a lone FBI agent who pursues a rogue Shaolin monk to get him to participate in the world of underground fight clubs. WB is apparently looking for an already-established and well known American actor to play the agent, and now we know they’ve at least got Rain in mind for the ass-kicking monk.

Lord knows how this film will turn out, but Killer Film will be on top of all new updates of this Warner Bros Pictures remake.
