Synopsis

In Scream 4, Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (played by Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

The newest installment in the acclaimed franchise that ushered in a new wave of horror in the 1990s is written by series creator Kevin Williamson and directed by suspense master and director of the first trilogy, Wes Craven.  The film stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox-Arquette, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Anthony Anderson, Adam Brody, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, Nico Tortorella, Marielle Jaffe, Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin, Lucy Hale, Shanae Grimes, Aimee Teegarden and Brittany Robertson.

She would go onto say that phrase a few more times, and then said: “I think they’re awesome. I don’t read comic books religiously, but I think they’re cool and it would be really fun to be a part of a franchise like that and get to play a character that’s been around forever that people have already developed a love towards.” She didn’t flat out say no to the film like Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star Mary Elizabeth Winstead did. According to The Hollywood reporter, director Marc Webb and Andrew Garfield are meeting with selected actresses over the weekend. These actresses include Imogen Poots (Fright Night remake), Ophelia Lovibond (Nowhere Boy), Lilly Collins (The Blind Side), Teresa Palmer (The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), and Emma Roberts (Scream 4).  Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) was reportedly among the names listed, but she has fallen out of the race.

None of these actresses have been given screen-tests, and have only met for meetings. It’s still rather early, and if Webb doesn’t like these actresses, then we could be looking at another long drawn out casting search. Webb is keeping with the trend of casting unknown actresses in the role. Unlike Sam Raimi’s trilogy, this reboot won’t feature Mary Jane Watson as the love interest, but most likely Gwen Stacey. Production is expected to begin in December.

The untitled Spider-man reboot will open on July of 2012.

Cameras are officially rolling on the newest film from the dynamic duo of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, who try to recapture that lightning in a bottle that was the original Scream. I didn’t care for the two sequels, but I will give this one a chance when it is released in 2011. Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell tweeted from the Scre4m set, and its there you will see a different looking Neve Campbell than you last remember. She looks a lot like Selma Blair.

Scream 4 returns to Woodsboro, the home of Sidney Prescott (Campbell), and Roberts will play a role similar to Campbell’s star-turning one in the original, says EW. Kevin Williamson’s script is still very much unknown, but all we can do is hope that it’s going to be pretty good. Williamson is producing along with Iya Labunka.

Principal photography is poised to start on June 28th with a set April 15th, 2011 release date. Roberts recently appeared as part of the all-star cast for the romantic comedy Valentine’s Day, which you can rent or buy on DVD.

Jordan Melamed penned the script for this feature which includes Emma Roberts, 50 Cent and Rory Culkin. Twelve has yet to get a distribution date, but regardless of that Vulture presents to us the new trailer from Hannover House.:

The comedy-drama centers on 16-year-old Craig (Gilchrist) who, stressed out from the demands of being a teenager, checks himself into a mental health clinic. He learns that the youth ward is closed and finds himself stuck in the adult ward. Galifianakis plays a patient who becomes the boy’s mentor and protege, Roberts is another patient, and Davis plays a psychiatrist. Kravitz is the boy’s crush, Mandvi another psychiatrist; Graham and Gaffigan are the parents. Shooting begins in New York in early December.

The most recent film, still out in some theaters at this moment, under Focus Features is the romance drama “Love Happens” starring Aaron Eckhart. This film is being produced by Kevin Misher and Ben Browning and is set for a to be announced 2011 release date.

Gary Marshall of Pretty Woman and Exit to Eden fame returns to the  romantic comedy scheme with Valentine’s Day, a comedy taking the He’s Just Not That Into You vein by casting all the A-list stars its budget can handle, with stars Julia Roberts, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Hector Elizondo, Jennifer Biel, Jennifer Garner, Emma Roberts, Ann Hathaway, Topher Grace, Jamie Foxx, Eric Dane, Shirley MacLaine, Queen Latifah, George Lopez, Patrick Dempsey, and Taylor Lautner.
