First off, there is a remake that’s already in the middle of pre-production of Bonnie and Clyde called The Story of Bonnie and Clyde. Sure, it’s absolutely harmless, since there’s a fine number of remakes out there in Hollywood nowadays. The thing that makes it instantly cringe-worthy is the casting process which already deems pretty boy Kevin Zegers and not-so-great Hilary Duff in the two main roles. The casting continues as JoBlo announces the newest arrivals acting wise with Thora Birch, Rance Howard, Richard Tyson, Taryn Manning, Cloris Leachman and Natalie Canerday.

The impending remake is being written and directed by Tonya S. Holly. The feature is set to come out sometime in 2010, but since there is no definite word on when they will start initial filming, we can only guess. It would be awful pessimistic to guess whether or not this film will succeed at all, but that’s the part of myself at the moment I cannot help.

New York, I Love You trailer

The first trailer for the upcoming anthology film New York, I love You, has just been released online. It seems to do its job in being a love letter to the city, and seems to have less romance as its counterpart Paris, je t’aime. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Andy Garcia, Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Natalie Portman, Irrfan Khan, Emilie Ohana, Orlando Bloom, Christina Ricci, Maggie Q, Ethan Hawke, James Caan, Blake Lively, Drea de Matteo, John Hurt, Shia LaBeouf, Burt Young, Chris Cooper, Eli Wallach, Cloris Leachman, and is segmented by 10 different short films, each various minutes in length, with each episode directed by a different person.

Official Trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s ‘Ponyo’ in the Wild

Disney released the trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s next adventure. Ponyo, or Ponyo on the Cliff in Japan, has been anticipated by many since it’s release last summer. The localized English version will be in theaters August 14th. The trailer is being hosted by Apple, available here in 480p, 720p, and 1080p.

Miyazaki, known in the States for Castle in the Sky , My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl’s Moving Castle, among others, takes on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic fairy tale of The Little Mermaid. in his tenth animated movie, Ponyo. All of Miyazaki’s films are well worth seeing.
