The game where a triangle shoots rocks into smaller rocks until they disappear is getting the film treatment. <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Universal</em></span> won the rights to develop the movie after winning a bidding war for them. The scribe behind the adaptation is new <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Matt Lopez</em></span>, while being produced by <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Lorenzo di Bonaventura</em></span>. He also produced <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Transformers</em></span>.</p>
<p>Really? A bidding war for <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Asteroids</em></span> the movie? What&#8217;s next? <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Tetris</em></span>? Or an adaptation of the classic game  <span style="color: #800000;"><em>E.T. </em></span>for the <span style="color: #800000;"><em>Atari 2600 </em></span>would be along the same caliber. As long as we&#8217;re at it, why not an adaptation of <span style="color: #800000;"><em>The Floor is Lava</em></span> since we&#8217;re pulling from childhood games.</p>
