Screenwriter Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes, Invictus, The Book of Eli) has been hired to adapt an unnamed Tom Clancy project. The studio will be rebooting the franchise with this installment which focuses on the early career of Jack Ryan, an officer turned CIA officer. Chris Pine (Star Trek) will star as Jack Ryan with Jack Bender (LOST) directing.

The story will be set in Russia and involve terrorists organizations.

The film will begin shooting late in 2010 or early in 2011.

It tells the story of Nelson Mandela, played by Morgan Freeman, and his efforts to unite his country. “Invictus” opens in theaters nationwide on December 11th and is written by Anthony Peckham of “Don’t Say A Word” fame.
