Below are the details released by Twentieth Century Fox.

“Just in time for Halloween, the highly-anticipated, heart-pounding sequel Mirrors 2 debuts exclusively on Blu-ray and DVD October 19 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. When Max, who is recovering from a traumatic accident, takes a job as a nighttime security guard, he begins to see visions of a young mysterious woman in the store’s mirror. The terrifying results push audiences to the edge-of-their-seats in this white-knuckle horror film directed by Spanish filmmaker Victor Garcia (Return to House on Haunted Hill, El Ciclo). Included with both the Mirrors 2 Blu-ray and DVD release is Into the Mirror, the original Korean film in which the contemporary horror classic is based, about a series of gruesome deaths in a department store all involving mirrors.

In Mirrors 2, the grisly slaughters continue after a young woman is brutally murdered in front of a mirror that is a portal to the world of the undead. Embarking on a murderous rampage, one by one she stalks the men and women responsible for her horrific death, exacting bloody revenge by dismembering and eviscerating the guilty. They can’t run, they can’t hide and they can’t look in the mirror because inside the mirrors the dead live on…waiting for vengeance.

Mirrors 2 boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Nick Stahl (Terminator 3, “Carnivàle”), William Katt (Alien vs. Hunter, “The Greatest American Hero”), Emmanuelle Vaugier (“CSI: NY”) and Christy Carlson Romano (voice of “Kim Possible”). Available as a single-disc DVD, Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and DVD 2-pack including the original Mirrors for the suggested retail price of $22.98 U.S., $29.99 U.S., $34.98 U.S. and $26.98 CAN, $32.99 CAN and $39.98 CAN respectively, each configuration features Into the Mirror.”

The film opens on September 3 and a new trailer has made its way online and it looks just as badass as the Cinco de Mayo preview. It should be attached to most prints of Predators.

“Machete is based on the “fake” trailer in Rodriguez’s 2007 Grindhouse. The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.”

The in-the-works television show follows a family from 100 years in the future who travel back in time 150 million years to the strange and inhospitable environs of prehistoric Earth (Variety). This television project is coming from 20th Century Fox, already mapping it out to become a series more so than a single pilot episode due to the cost of special effects that would come from this particular production.

Only if the project gets green lit would Spielberg and Chernin really latch onto the production as executive producers, though with Chernin that is not entirely certain depending on who else they decide to throw on board. For many people, if this starts chugging along in production, it warrants as another prehistoric-based vehicle that Spielberg has been on since the three Jurassic Park features.

Diablo Cody knows what guys want.
They know what boys like.
Boys like, boys like Megan Fox.

I couldn’t resist spoofing that song by The Waitresses, which happens to appear in the Theatrical Trailer for the Diablo Cody vehicle Jennifer’s Body, starring controversial uber hottie Megan Fox. I do fall into the demographic that the studio is aiming for, so let’s find out if you should shell out $10 of your hard earned money.

We open with a mousy girl in an insane asylum named Needy (Amanda Seyfried), who tells the story of how her childhood friend Jennifer (Megan Fox) ends up a boy-munching succubus from the bowels of hell.

One night the girls decide to hit a local hick bar so Jennifer can try and hook up with a member of a small-time band named Low Shoulder – who look like Green Day imposters. Little does she know that they are looking for a virgin to sacrifice to beezlebub so they can hit the big time. After a fiery mishap that causes the bar to go up in flames, Jennifer is dragged into the woods and stabbed to death, but problems arise because she is not that innocent (Duh!), which brings forth a flesh craving demon that posseses her body.

After devouring a few of the townsfolk, Jennifer sets her sights on Needy’s boyfriend Chip (Johnny Simmons) and a battle ensues over who gets Jennifer’s Body.

The strongest aspect of the film is Diablo Cody’s hip, tweener dialogue that is something you would think was penned by a potty-mouthed male like Kevin Smith. Karyn (Aeon Flux) Kusama’s camerawork has a nice flow to the slick look the movie is going for. Megan Fox plays the high school cheerleader efficiently, and will have every guy (and some girls) playing pocket pool. She is quite ghoulish in a couple demonic close-up shots. In the end though, this is Amanda Seyfried’s movie with most of the plot points revolving around her relationship with Chip and the possibility that her feelings for the adventerous Jennifer are more than plutonic. From top to bottom this was one estrogen fueled genre film.

I’m sure everyone is wondering the obvious, do we get to see Megan Fox naked? Sorry to dissapoint you guys but what you saw in the previews is pretty much what you get. While it is sweet to see her in a cheerleader uniform, kissing another girl, and in her undies – it’s quite a hand-wringing experience when photos from the set were leaked showing a topless Megan coming out of a lake on the set. Diablo Cody admits this is a throwback to the 80′s style of horror, then why not take advantage of the R Rating and have a random shower scene involving extras who don’t have clauses in their contracts about going full monty? Skin and gore go hand-in-hand with this kind of lowbrow antics, and with high school as a backdrop there were plenty of opportunities to channel the spirit of the kind of movies that Hollywood doesn’t make any more. Talk about a prick tease.

Jennifer’s Body is worth the price of a matinee admission and will make a nice bookend to the similiarly-themed Tamara. Look for a brief cameo by the legend himself Lance Henriksen.

As an extra treat you can watch me get knocked around up by a bunch of teenyboppers at the pre-screening Q & A with the cast/crew.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars

Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) is the sexy, popular captain of the high school cheerleading squad. All of the girls want to be friends with her, and all of the boys want to have sex with her. Jennifer’s friend since childhood, Anita “Needy” Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried), is a nerdy, substantially less popular, “plain jane” student. The ritual goes horribly wrong, causing Jennifer to get possessed by a demon and start feeding off of the boys in her high school—first seducing them to get close, and then consuming them in a manner similar to that of a Succubus. It becomes Needy’s goal to stop Jennifer from killing more of her classmates.

The Toronto Star is reporting that the cast has settled their dispute over pay. It seems that the casting call may have been merely a bluff to get Billy West, Katey Sagal, and the rest of the cast to realize that the fans care about them. Still pending official word from Fox, Comedy Central, or any of the vocal talent.

Maybe they shouldn’t have been that girl in the first place. Just saying. But back to being stupid-excited about new Futuramas!!!

Update: Billy West & John DiMaggio not yet signed but close.

Los Angeles, Calif.-The Star has learned exclusively that the voice cast of Futurama has just signed a new contract with Fox after weeks of intense salary negotiations.

As late as last week, the network was threatening to replace the original voices of Matt Groening’s cult-hit cartoon, to the point of actually announcing a casting call for voice actors to replace them.

The compromise agreement, with the studio paying more and the actors accepting less, comes after the announcement of a 26-episode pick-up here by Comedy Central. Futurama also airs internationally in syndication, has produced four bestselling straight-to-DVD movies (later cut into episodes) and an upcoming feature film.

“We love the Futurama voice performers and absolutely wanted to use them, but unfortunately, we could not meet their salary demands. While replacing these talented actors will be difficult, the show must go on. We are confident that we will find terrific new performers to give voice to Matt and David’s brilliantly subversive characters.”

That’s the quote from 20th Century Fox. Really? After all this time, Futurama finally got the green light for 26 new episodes. Then Fox decides that the all-star cast, featuring Billy West, Katey Sagal, John Di Maggio, Tress MacNielle, and Phil LaMarr, among others, were looking for too much salary-wise. All things considered, Billy West is a legend in voice-acting. Katey Sagal and Phil LaMarr have also done more than enough to make Fox as important as they are. With all the intergral cast being recasted, I’m pretty sure that the future of Futurama is not going to follow suit with the other animated show Fox made the foolish decision to cancel: Family Guy. And now Family Guy is back and printing more money for Fox.

This is the casting call for the openings in Futurama’s cast:

SERIES REGULAR ROLES:

[ PHILIP J. FRY (FRY) ]
Fry, a 20th century slacker, works as a pizza delivery boy. On December 21st, 1999, he is cryogenically frozen and wakes up 1000 years in the future in the city of New New York. Through a series of events, Fry tracks down his great (x30) nephew Professor Hubert Farnsworth and lands a job at the Professors Planet Express delivery company as a delivery boy. Fry bunks with Planet Expresss beer-swilling robot, Bender. Fry is constantly trying to win the heart of Leela, the companys ship captain…SERIES REGULAR

[ TURANGA LEELA (LEELA) ]
Leela, a sexy Cyclops, is the captain of the Planet Express delivery ship. Leela is in charge of every company mission, having her hands full keeping Fry and Bender in line. Her early years were spent in an orphanage where she was a bit of an outcast for having one eye. She took up kickboxing and other similar sports to make up for the lack of friends. She still has problems with men and often gets jealous of Amys (her co-worker) popularity among the opposite sex. She has a soft spot for Fry but is unsure of anything further than that, due to Frys clumsy advances…SERIES REGULAR

http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=162824&title=leelas-timeline (Episode 4ACV02)

[ BENDER BENDING RODRIQUEZ (BENDER) ]
Bender, a cigar-smoking, booze-guzzling, kleptomaniac robot, had a successful career in bending girders but tired to kill himself when he found out the girders were being used for suicide booths. He was saved by Fry and later took a job at Planet Express. To be able to function properly, Bender needs the chemical energy from alcohol. Excessive drinking is mandatory or he will become sober and unable to control his body. Magnets stuck to his head make him sing like a folk singer…SERIES REGULAR

http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=188899&title=bender-the-drone (Episode 5ACV05)

[ PROFESSOR HUBERT FARNSWORTH (PROFESSOR) ]
Professor Hubert Farnsworth is the owner of the Planet Express delivery company, which he uses to fund his strange scientific experiments. He also lectures at Mars University on the mathematics of quantum neutrino fields (he made up the name so no one would dare take the course). He is technically 160 years old, but to avoid being picked up by the sunset squad and taken to the near death star he says he is only 150…SERIES REGULAR

http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=217636&title=back-in-action (Episode 5ACV01)

[ DR. JOHN ZOIDBERG (ZOIDBERG) ]
Dr. Zoidberg, a lobster-like alien, left his home planet of Decapod 10 to become a rich doctor but instead became the Planet Express staff doctor (doesnt pay so well). Zoidberg, who is usually shunned by the rest of the Planet Express crew, is always in search of his next meal. His skill as a surgeon, and basic knowledge of human anatomy, are often called into question. He secretly desires to become a stand-up comedian…SERIES REGULAR

http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=147743&title=love-lessons (Episode 2ACV05)

FUTURAMA RECURRING ROLES:

[ MOM ]
Mom is the very old, very rich, very ruthless founder of Moms Friendly Robot Company. She has three sons: Walt, Larry, and Igner, who work for the company and help Mom do her dirty work. Many years ago, Farnsworth worked for Moms Friendly Robot Company, and they had a fling, which ended when Mom kept turning Farnsworths cute inventions into mad, killing machines…RECURRING

http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=147736&title=mothers-day (Episode 2ACV14)

[ ZAPP BRANNIGAN ]
Zapp Brannigan is a 25-star General of the Democratic Order of Planets and has been responsible for several successful wars including a triumph over the pacifists of the Ghandi Nebula. He is always accompanies on mission by his hapless assistant Kif Kroker. Behind all his bravado he is a wimp who is not very intelligent. He once slept with Leela, a fact hat he constantly reminds her of…RECURRING

http://www.hulu.com/watch/60311/futurama-zapp-in-the-shower (Episode 2ACV17)

[ KIF KROKER (KIF) ]
Kif Kroker is a hard working, long suffering alien Lieutenant of the DOOP who does all the hard work and takes the rap for problems usually caused by Zapp Brannigan (his superior officer). Zapp considers Kif to be his most loyal friend however, Kif in fact views Zapp as an imbecile. He is smitten with his current girlfriend Amy. He has no bones and is supported by a system of inflated bladders…RECURRING

So it looks like Phil LaMarr is the only one returning of the main cast. So Hermes is not changing. Woo. Can someone please tell Fox that they need to follow a cue from Family Guy, and not change anything? That’d be great.

This Christmas eve California courts have ruled that 20th Century Fox owns the copyright rights to the upcoming Watchmen film. With 20th Century Fox owning the rights to the completed film, Fox is looking to withhold the release of next years anticipated film, though judge Gary A. Feess did state :“The parties may wish to turn their efforts from preparing for trial to negotiating a resolution of this dispute or positioning the case for review”

The lawsuit began after the films trailer premier back this summer when news had already began of the mass hype surrounding the film, then Fox came out with the lawsuit against against Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures due to the fact that they had acquired rights to the Watchmen novel back in the 80’s.

Whether the film will still be released this March is still up in the air with this new decision.
