The Academy changes up the voting

The LA Times reports that the Academy Awards are continuing on with their minor changes to their long running awards show that they hope can help improve ratings even further. One can only assume that they expect the nominees to turn out a lot more interesting than first predicted. The old rule for someone who was voting in the directing, writing or acting category could only do so within their respected branch, not being allowed to wander over to any of the other two despite a nomination from there. Now they are allowed to vote in the other two categories, spreading out players in the field and making for hopefully more interesting votes.

This is the part though where you wonder if it will even matter in the end. Do you think it will still be as biased with particular voting and still end up the same just like in previous years with these three categories? Do you believe this actually is a some what fresh idea and could prove to be better for the Academy? Tell us what you think.
