Jason Bene’s Halloween Watch List

This is my third go-around at a Halloween Watch List, and I am keeping it simple with 5 flicks that kick all sorts of ass. Shall we begin?
Pumpkinhead
Stan Winston’s directorial debut is one of the finest creature features ever.

The Mist
Frank Darabont nails the novella with a fine mixture of CGI and practical effects.

Drive-Thru
A killer clown that takes no prisoners.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II
A sequel that surpasses the original and takes you to the furthest reaches of Hell.

Highway to Hell
This is the film Kristy Swanson and Chad Lowe hooked up on, and it is still not on DVD. Find a copy now!

I love THE MIST. I don’t care about the changed ending. It made it better. The effects are fantastic and Marcia Gay Harden is brilliant. Watching it in black and white makes it so much better.
Great list, bro.

Thanks!
I still haven’t watched the black and white version, which I hear is better.

The Mist is my choice for best horror film of this past decade.

The ending is downright nihilistic! A kick to the balls!

I just watched THE MIST in B&W a few weeks ago and liked it a lot more! A solid flick made even better!
So we are all in agreement…THE MIST is a modern classic!

Yup, I think it looks that way.
Highway to Hell is probably one of my top 10 favorite films…or atleast when I was younger.
