Donny’s Halloween Watch List
Halloween mother F***ers! I LOVE Halloween. It’s my favorite time of year. It’s that time of year that we get to dress up as our favorite characters and forget about our everyday lives for a while. Plus we get to up the amount of horror movies we watch during this awesome holiday season. Every Halloween we here at Killer Film post our Halloween watch lists for all of you to enjoy, and this year we have a treat, besides watch lists from the staff we’ll be posting watch lists from Murder Party’s, Macon Blair and Chris “The Brown Knight” Sharp! Murder Party is one of my all time favorite horror flicks and to be able to have these guys participating in our Halloween tradition truly is awesome. So be on the look out for their lists later in the week. Happy Halloween Killer Film Geeks, enjoy the lists and feel free to email us your own lists or comment with flicks you think we’ve missed.
This year I’ve been in sort of a heavy metal mood, and as a result of that my watch list has quite a few rocking titles.
Trick or Treat (1986) – This is the ultimate heavy metal Halloween flick! Sammie Curr is awesome, the music is awesome (buy this soundtrack), the girls are hot, and both Ozzy and Gene Simmons are in the flick.

The Monster Squad (1987) – This flick is essential Halloween viewing. I loved this movie when I was young and I still love it. They don’t make them like this anymore. If for some reason you haven’t seen this flick, then please pick it up or add it to your rental queue ASAP.

Rock ‘n’ Roll Nightmare (1987) – A goofy heavy metal romp that has gained cult status over the years. This is the perfect flick to watch with friends while drinking, and it has a fun soundtrack as well.

Black Roses (1988) – Another heavy metal horror movie that sports some killer tunes. When the band from hell shows up to steal the souls of the youth, a good time will be had by all!

The Return of the Living Dead (1985) – Dan O’Bannon’s awesome horror/comedy is an absolute must watch during the Halloween season. This flick is by far my favorite of the horror/comedy sub-genre and it still holds up today. Anyone for a naked grave dance?

Trick ‘r Treat (2008) – This flick was shelved for a while by the studio, but finally released on DVD and blu-ray this October. It was totally worth the wait and has earned a permanent position on my watch list.

Murder Party (2007) – A cross between The Breakfast Club and a standard issue slasher movie, this flick is by far one of my favorite indie horror treats. I watch it no less that twice a year and it never gets old. If you’ve never seen it, then do yourself a favor and do so NOW!

Hatchet (2006) – Adam Green’s magnum opus is an open love letter the the slasher genre, a perfect return to form for the deformed slasher in the woods. Halloween wouldn’t be complete without this flick.

Fright Night (1985) – The best damn vampire movie our there! This flick is more fun than The Lost Boys and has one of the most amazing soundtracks ever. Forget Twilight and watch this flick instead.

Hard Rock Zombies (1985) – This is not a good movie, but it is a lot of fun. Heavy metal, zombies, and hotties. What more could you want from a rocking horror movie?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my watch list and feel free to add your picks in the comments below.

Great list! Actually a few on there i haven’t seen! Cool!
It’s not my usual list, I was in a metal mood. Glad I could introduce a few you haven’t heard of.
Monster Squad is awesome any day of the year. one of my fav ‘horror’ movies ever.
Wolfman’s got nards?
Kudos to Donny for putting up TRICK R TREAT 1986! Whoo hoo!
That’s a party hardcore list Donny! You are always in Metal mode.
Monster Squad is awesome, but Donny listens to that weaker form of metal
I like to type of metal where the singers can sing, and they sing about girls and beer instead of sounding like a a drunk guy burping out lyrics about Satan.
