Adam Rifkin’s Halloween Watch List

It’s that time of the year, Killer Fans! We are back with our annual Halloween Watch List. Besides some of our writers recommending flicks for October, we will be bringing in a few of our friends who work in the industry to see what they watch at the most wonderful time of the year for genre fiends.
Adam Rifkin is no stranger to the horror genre, having directed Psycho Cop 2, The Invisible Maniac and “Wadzilla”, my favorite segment from Chillerama.
The Exorcist (Original cut only)
Still the best horror film ever made, in my humble opinion.

Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein
My favorite movie when I was a kid. The perfect blend of scary and funny.

Night of the Living Dead
The “Breathless” of zombie movies. The zombie movie that broke all the rules and inspired a genre. The zombie movie heard ’round the world.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
So gritty it feels real. Watching it makes you feel like an accomplice. Feels like watching a twisted snuff film.

John Carpenter’s The Thing
“You gotta be fucking kidding!”

Psycho
The granddaddy of the slasher genre. Movies were never the same again.

Frankenstein
Frankenstien was the first horror movie I ever saw and it was love at first sight.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers
Creepy as all Hell. Where the 1956 version dealt with Red paranoia, the Kaufman version was heavily post-Watergate, government conspiracy inspired.

An American Werewolf in London
Another example of the perfect blend of scary and funny.

Halloween
The new granddaddy of the slasher genre. Like “Psycho,” movies were never the same again.

Honorable mention:
Salem’s Lot
Scariest made for TV movie ever!
