Thank you for reading my review for “Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines”.

Short Version: While Terminator 3 is a decent action flick, it has to be one of the worst sequels I have ever seen.

Plot Synopsis: Set some years after “Judgement Day”, John Connor finds himself living off the grid after the death of his mother. Meanwhile, Skynet has sent another Terminator back in time to find and destroy John.

The story for this film is just weak. In fact, the story makes the previous films(and this one) pointless. It said in the film that Judgement Day is “inevitable”,  and that the future is set. But in the first two films it was always said that “The future isn’t set and there is not fate, but what you make for yourself”. If the future is set, then sending Terminators back in time would change nothing, and is entirely pointless.  The story also features very little emotion, and no character development. The only part of the story that was any interesting was that the T-800 in this film was the one that killed John Connor in the future.

This film relies entirely on its action and special effects to sell the film. Also, the action just tries to copy what was done in the first two films. T1 and T2 are more than just about action. They have emotion, character development, story, great action, special effects, and great acting. This film has only action and special effects.

The acting in this is rather stale. John Connor was turned into a freaking coward, and they just had to give him a love interest(sigh).  In fact, Kate Brewster had more balls than Connor did. Schwarzenegger was too old to play the T-800. The TX is weak when you compare it to the T-1000, and is only called “TX” because it sounds “cool”. The character did look pretty cool in certain scenes, although.

There is nothing I can say about the dialogue for this film other than it was just horrible.

This film does have some great special effects, but that’s only one of the two aspects about this film that is any good, other than its action.

Overall: Terminator 3 was rather difficult to pay attention to, and after the car chase I found myself losing interest in the film very quickly. However, Terminator 2 was a film that would have been difficult to live up to and will probably remain the greatest Sci-Fi film ever made. The Terminator series is probably the best example of a series that should have ended after its second film, and this film proves that. I give “Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines” a 1 out of 5.
