Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure – Blu-ray Review
Tinker Bell has never been one of my favorite cartoon characters (although I do love the adult Halloween costume). I enjoyed Peter Pan when I was a kid, but I never connected with it like some kids did. My daughter on the other hand is a totally different story. She absolutely loves Tinker Bell. She dresses up like her, watches the movies, and tries to fix her hair like Tink too. So when this disc came in the mail I knew I couldn’t pawn it off on some other reviewer.
The story goes something like this, Tinker Bell’s inventions don’t always turn out like she wants them to, so it comes as a surprise when she is asked to make a beautiful scepter for the Autumn Harvest Festival. Honored to be asked to create such a special item Tinker Bell is forced to look for a lost treasure because she accidentally breaks the very rare moonstone that she has been entrusted with.
I can’t say that I loved Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, but that doesn’t really matter because it wasn’t made for me. It was made for children like my daughter that love and admire the timeless character of Tinker Bell. I can say that the animation is some of the most beautiful that I have seen in a very long time, and the soundtrack is pretty solid as well.
If you have children, then Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure will most definitely be a killer film to them.
The Blu-ray
Audio/Video
The audio on this disc is simply amazing. The 24-bit master audio soundtrack is crisp and clear and adds an extra layer of awesome to this disc. The video also looks way better than most direct to DVD/Blu-ray releases. It looks phenomenal! Every color is beautiful and pops right off the screen.
Special Features
Scenes You Never Saw: I’m not usually a fan of deleted scenes, but the leftovers on this disc are pretty darn cool. My kids enjoyed some of these scenes as much as the flick itself. Totally worth checking out.
Magical Guide to Pixie Hollow: I didn’t enjoy this short animated guide through Pixie Hollow, but my kids did, so that should tell you something. It wasn’t intended for me.
Backstage Disney: This is a pretty cool feature that gives viewers a tour through the Pixie Hollow garden that just opened at EPCOT. I enjoyed this feature.
Music Video: Demi Lovato’s music video for her song The Gift of a Friend wasn’t my cup of tea, but again, my kids really dug it.
