SpongeBob SquarePants: Truth or Square – DVD Review

spongebobtosdvdThe Film:

No doubt I was very excited when I was given the chance to review a SpongeBob movie. SpongeBob has been an immediate hit and one of the best cartoons of the new generation that is still “kid friendly”, which is not very frequent anymore. In the new SpongeBob Truth or Square movie, the DVD comes with four episodes and an extended episode of the Krusty Krab’s Eleventy-seventh anniversary. SpongeBob’s number one fan, Patchy the Pirate is attempting to get celebrities to appear on his fan club’s tenth anniversary TV special.

In my opinion, cartoons are some of the most difficult to judge as an adult, because we have basically lost touch with what the new generation of kids enjoy in cartoons today. However, I believe that this movie is easy and classic enough to enjoy for everyone. There are many people of different ages that SpongeBob has as fans. Also, there is not much change in the movie from the everyday cartoon which seems to be a trend from time to time. It is still the same SpongeBob that we have grown to love along with the occasional flashbacks from throughout the seasons.

Special Features:

There are quite few features that are included such as a Behind the scenes of the SpongeBob Opening and a few karaoke music videos.

Conclusion:

There is no denying that SpongeBob is a children’s cartoon. However, I believe that of the daytime cartoons, it does the best job of appealing to every age group while still maintaining its identity.
