Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse – DVD Review
Disney cartoons are almost always a treat. Especially the older ones that feature the original characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Pluto, Snow White, and the plethora of others that helped turn Disney into the powerhouse it is today. Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse is a welcome addition to the Disney catalogue.
The House of Mouse was a show that was made for the Disney channel that ran between 2001 and 2003. In the show Mickey plays host to all of the Disney characters in a night club like setting, where he plays old movies for the audience. It’s pretty cool to see all the old characters like Winnie the Pooh and Pinocchio along side characters like Timon and Pumbaa.
In this Christmas special version of The House of Mouse Mickey works hard to bring Christmas cheer to up Donald Duck, who is not feeling very joyous during this particular holiday season. So Mickey Cues up some Christmas themed cartoons to perk up the grouchy duck.
The flicks that Mickey chooses to show are all solid family fun and it was a pleasure to watch them all multiple times with my kids. My favorite of the bunch is A Christmas Carol, followed closely by Pluto’s Christmas Tree, but all of the cartoons on this disc are fun and merit multiple viewings, because they are all killer cartoons.

Audio/Video
The audio came in loud and clear and the video looks crisp and colorful. Disney has taken care of these cartoons and it is evident on this disc.
Special Features
Premiere Episode of House of Mouse: This is exactly what it sounds like. The very first Disney channel show, and while it’s not a awesome as this Christmas special it is worth watching.
Sing-Along Songs: Deck The Halls and Sleigh Ride are presented with an animated sing-along for the kids to follow. I didn’t care for this feature, but my kids loved it.
The Sounds of Christmas: A short featurette that focuses on the sound team that creates the brilliant sound effects used in the flick.
