Kobe Doin’ Work – DVD Review
Since sports really became mainstream. It has transformed itself into one of the most effective influences on anyone no matter the age difference. With that said, it has been an objective of both media and fans to get behind the scenes looks at the thing we can’t get enough of. As one of the most noteworthy directors and sports fans, Spike Lee chose to make a movie based around the most dominant and all around best player in the NBA today, Kobe Bryant. The movie not only analyzes Bryant during a live game, but it also features play-by-play commentary by Bryant himself. It also gives fans an in depth inside look at the Los Angeles Lakers during the halftime of a game.
When the HBO documentaries about football teams started coming on, I quickly became a fan despite my dislike for the teams. As far as a movie about the actual best player we’ve seen since Michael Jordan retired, I was ecstatic. Now before I get carried away, the actual movie was quite brilliant. The analysis of Bryant was done quite well. The freedom he had to actually analyze the game while it was being played would shift anyone’s opinion that had dislikes for Bryant as a person to at least have the utmost respect for him as a player, his knowledge of the game and what he actually does every time the Lakers step out on the court. His in depth explanation of each play left me with a deeper admiration for his commitment. On Spike Lee’s part, he made the right decision because of the recognition of Bryant’s name around the country and even the world. The camera angles really gave a front seat to see one of the best players we’ll ever see.
Conclusion:
I would recommend this to any sports fan. It stays on track for the whole movie.
