I Am Number Four – Blu-ray Review
The Flick:
D. J. Caruso’s I Am Number Four is a fun flick that I enjoyed in the theatre and was looking forward to seeing on Blu-ray. When the flick arrived on my doorstep I was pretty excited.
The film is based on a novel by Jobie Hughes and James Frey. It tells of a young alien named John (Alex Pettyfer) who came to Earth to escape a race of evil aliens that killed his people. Only, he’s not alone. There are others like him and as they mature they gain powers that can be used to help them fight off the evil aliens. Along with his protector, Henri (Timothy Olyphant), John travels around the globe trying to go unnoticed. Only once John meets Sarah (Dianna Agron) he decides that maybe running isn’t his only option.
At first I was a little worried when the movie seemed to focus more on the romance than the action, but it didn’t take long for the it to switch gears and become an honest to goodness scifi action ass-kicker. Also, Teresa Palmer (Number 6) is stupid hot (just saying).
While the flick has its flaws, such as a slow build, and a few unexplained occurrences I found myself cheering the heroes on. It reminded me of childhood favorite The Last Starfighter. I’m hoping it performs well so I get a chance to see the sequel that was set up at the end. I think there’s a solid franchise to be built and I’m excited to watch it unfold. So do yourself a favor and check out I Am Number Four, because it is positively a killer film.
The Blu-ray:
Audio/Video: The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is amazing. It is one of the best audio tracks I’ve heard in a while. The lazer blasts sounded huge and every background noise was music to my ears.

Becoming Number Six: Teresa Palmer gives viewers a tour of the work that went into creating her character.
Deleted Scenes: D.J. Caruso introduces scenes that didn’t make it into the flick.
There is also a small blooper reel and some trailers on this disc and a DVD and Digital Copy are also included in this package as well.

I'm just saying.
