Bigfoot – Watch Instantly Review
Director Kevin Tenney wowed the horror community with his 1988 classic Night of the Demons. Who knew that he would go on to write and direct not only more genre flicks, but a fun children’s movie as well? Bigfoot is the flick in question and as far as kid’s entertainment goes it’s pretty decent.
I have two children and I watch lots of flicks with them, mostly of the Nickelodeon/Disney Channel variety. So when I stumbled upon Bigfoot on my new Roku box I figured that at the very least my kids would have a good time, and I’d get to spend some time in front of the tube with them. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the flick. Sure, it carries the usual cliches found in kid flicks, but it also has a certain charm that works in its favor. Adding to its charm are the excellent cast members. The Big Bad Wolf himself Richard Tyson dials in a solid performance, Angie Everhart plays his wife, and new comer and Hannah Montana alumni Adam Raque plays their misunderstood son Percy.
The plot is pretty standard fare. Percy is in love with the popular girl in school (of course he is) and in order to change his status from invisible to on the radar he does whatever it takes to impress her. While working hard to get the attention of his dream girl, Percy gets into a tussle with a few redneck bullies and in the process of running away from them he runs into Bigfoot. As it turns out Bigfoot is pretty laid back and loves Powerbars (who knew?). Of course the rednecks also spot the hairy beast and decide to do their best to capture him. Forcing Percy and his friends formulate a plan to save Bigfoot.
The look of the movie is pretty impressive. There are nice sweeping crane shots combined with beautiful landscapes. The costume, while similar to a popular Bigfoot named Harry, looked pretty good. If you enjoy watching the boob-tube with your kids, then you could definitely do worse than Bigfoot, because it is a killer kid’s film. So put in your Netflix watch instantly queue and enjoy it with the whole family.

I like the idea of Kevin mixing it up and doing a children’s film. The same way Robert Rodriguez does stuff for his kids like Spy Kids, Shorts, and The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl.
