I am definitely not the biggest fan of horror movies, and probably judge them on a tougher scale than I would other movies, but this film still found a way to impress me. Story-line was  traditional, but had a modern feel to it instead the same old tricks we’re used to. The characters, for the majority of the movie did have good chemistry. The story behind the killer was very new to me, and it was also a plus that he was creepy enough. With that said, the film, “Death On Demand” gets a very solid three and a half stars.

Opening scene does answer a few questions about the murders, but I do feel as if they could’ve given ten more minutes to fully explain why he snapped and killed his family. All we are left with is speculation. As viewers we can’t be left with unanswered questions, we’ll go crazy! Even though this is a horror movie, I do applaud the film makers for not showing the killer brutally murdering his daughters.

The idea of watching five college students and a porn star spend the night in a haunted house is pure brilliance. Â The acting definitely isn’t the best I’ve seen, but it passes for the college students. When the students split up into pairs, I start to second guess the choices, because at times the chemistry would get lost, but for the most part they held it together. In my past experiences of good horror movies, it wouldn’t have taken an hour for someone to die. With that said, If the viewers could hold themselves in their seats, then I am sure they’ll be pleased with the gruesomeness of the killings. I can say for sure they overlapped the ground they lost when people started dropping. I can’t stress enough how much easier it would be to imagine Shaun McIntyre (killer) strolling into my room than any of the more infamous killers we’re used to. Kudos to them.

Overall, I would award this movie with a three and a half performance. Now let me reiterate that I am not a big fan of horror movies. So to say this film earned a pretty respectable review from a comedy movie guy is something to be proud of. In the end, They did what counted, kept my pen out of my hand when it came time for the criticisms.
