Review Summary
The film was bad, just bad.
The Review
I wish I could give a better review of this film, but I can't bring myself to it. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being sci fi channel original movie and 5 being citizen cane, The Planet rates 1/2. And I only give the 1/2 on the fact that its an all scottish cast in the film.
The Planet follows one of the most copied plots in sci fi. Spaceship is traveling through space, something attacks it, crew escapes, crazy shit attacks them on a planet, blah blah blah. The film doesn't add anything new to the genre. Its cheap, looks cheap, and is acted cheap. I wish I could word this review to make it sound better than it is, but sorry, thats not gonna be the case.
The special effects, dear god where do I start. The space scenes look like something out of a video game, from 10 years ago! The weapons the actors use look like super soakers, and the monster they fight looks like something out of a power rangers episode. And whoever did the fire effects needs to be brought to a damn campfire to see what the real thing looks like.
The film was bad, just bad. I give kudos to the actors for giving their all with what they had to work with, but they didn't have much to work with at all. The planet is definitely not a KILLER FILM.
