The Many Voices of Hank Azaria
Hank Azaria is a solid character actor. I’ve been a fan of his since seeing him on the highly under appreciated series Mad About You. His work in Friends, Godzilla, Shattered Glass, The Birdcage cemented him as an actor that could enhance any role, big or small. He’s one of those actors that does good work no matter what type of character he portrays on screen.
In the sequel to the successful Night at the Museum, Azaria lends his considerable talents to not one, but three characters in the flick. First and foremost he plays the angry Kahmunrah, the Egyptian who intends to rule the world. He brings a charming lisp to the character that makes it hard to hate him even though he is the flicks antagonist. Second he plays The Thinker, a statue that is more concerned with impressing buxom female statues than helping to saving the day. Last but not least, he portrays honest Abe Lincoln. This is perhaps my favorite character of the bunch. While I enjoyed the other characters, Abe had a certain charm that makes him instantly likable.

The three amazing characters that Hank Azaria makes his own are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the fun, quirky characters that populate Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. So if you haven’t seen it yet, rent it or better yet pick it up on DVD or Blu-ray. Read our review of the film here.
