Could it be?! Is Jay taking over for Silent Bob in the director’s chair?

The answer seems to be yes. At least for one music video.

Jason Mewes not only directed but also stars in the video for the 100 Monkeys’ song “The Fair.”

OK, raise your hand if you have no idea who 100 Monkeys are. I thought so. Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper in The Twilight Saga films and co-starred in The Last Airbender, is a member of the band. He also has a cameo in Mewes’ latest film, Zombie Hamlet, set to be released sometime this year. That’s actually how the two met. When Rathbone did his cameo, he asked Mewes if he’d like to be part of the video. It was filmed in Baton Rouge, presumably while Rathbone is working on the next two Twilight films.

Now, I must admit – I’ve seen the Monkeys perform live, and they’re pretty entertaining. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing this video.

The new year seems to be off to an interesting start for Ryan Reynolds.

The previous year ended with him filing for divorce from Scarlett Johansson. But he welcomed the new one with former co-star and longtime pal Sandra Bullock. That, of course, set off a ton of are-they-or-aren’t-they talk.

Reynolds and Bullock reportedly have a tradition of ringing in the new year together, and this year, they celebrated at Bullock’s Austin, Texas, restaurant, Bess Bistro. But before the romance talk gets too out-of-hand, it should be noted that the Oscar winner and the Sexiest Man Alive celebrated with a group of friends.

So, what do you think? Are they or aren’t they?

In the meantime, mark your calendars for the June release of Green Lantern. Reynolds will no doubt be fielding romance questions in addition to superhero ones while he’s promoting it.
