New Release Tuesday
Welcome to the first New Release Tuesday for April! Before we get looking at what’s coming out, remember by clicking on the cover art, you’ll go right to Amazon!
Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
Here’s just another case of why the original is better. Don’t believe? It comes with the remake! This one focused on Klaatu not warning us, but organizing our destruction via a CG Gort. Ugh. But if you do plan on buying it, Best Buy is offering a cool, free Gort figure with purchase; it’s so cool, trust me. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Avoid Donny: Rent
Yes Man
Not one of 2008′s funnier comedies, but I thought it was decent, and Zooey Deschanel is absolutely adorable. A decent comeback for Jim Carrey too. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent
Bedtime Stories
I’m sure this is safe, fun, and perfect for everyone, but I missed out on it theatrically. Adam Sandler’s resurrection will happen with Funny People, as this is just a diversion. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent
Doubt
Best acted film of 2008? I think so. The film focuses on nothing but the concept of the word and is completely riveting. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Buy Donny says: Rent
Donkey Punch
Apparently, this takes a spin on the I Know What You did Last Summer story, but critics were mixed. Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent
House
A Christian horror film that we hated. ‘Nuff said. Jon says: Avoid Donny says: Rent
This kind of didn’t do much when it came out, and although I heard its decent, it’s similar to Ratatouille. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Rent Donny says: Rent
No Country for Old Men: Collector’s Edition
I own the previous edition, and while a bit skimpy on extras, it was a solid Blu Ray disc. This one just adds more extras to the mix and while they are enticing, I really don’t see why its been re-released. Also on Blu Ray. Jon says: Rent (the movie is a Buy though) Donny says: Rent
New to Blu
Decent week here, and by the way, just keep it here at Killer Film, for reviews and news on these titles and more!
