Nathan Baesel’s Halloween Watch List
After first seeing Nathan Baesel play the likable yet frightening killer in 2006’s indie cult film, Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, I have been a huge fan of Baesel’s for his comedic timing and his obvious acting chops. Ironically, even though he admitted he is scared of most horror films, Nathan was able to provide his top five Halloween films to watch this year! Be sure to read “Leslie Vernon’s” list and show him some love in the comment section below.
1. The Exorcist - Every time I watch it, my disbelief is confronted by doubt.

2. Psycho - Its construction is seamless and Anthony Perkins is one of our greatest underappreciated actors.

3. Silence of the Lambs - Although more of a thriller than a classic horror film, its use of suspense and the slow revelation of the villain’s story is handled with horrific perfection.

4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 1,2,3 - They were the first horror films I ever saw and as gripping as anything I’d seen before or since.

5. Pet Semetary - Again, more of a thriller than a horror pic but the visceral jolt I got out of the Amanda Plummer scenes and the moment of the cat jumping out of tree (not to mention the kid who got hit by a truck!) epitomized how affective a movie experience can be.

Nathan can be next seen in this year’s upcoming dramedy, Off the Ledge and hopefully (fingers crossed) the much rumoured sequel to Behind the Mask in the next year. (Let’s keep hope alive!)

Pet Sematary and Carrie are the two best Stephen King adaptions. Zelda is the stuff of nightmares…just thinking about that gaunt frame shrieking towards the screen creeps me the hell out.
