Killer Film visits the set of Night of the Demons!
When Donny asked me if I would be available to visit the set of the Night of the Demons remake, I jumped at the chance. I did so for two reasons; first I loved the original, and second I’d never been on a real movie set before. I’m a huge fan of movies, but I never thought I’d be interviewing actors or watching a movie come to life before my eyes. So I told Donny that I’d do my best, and headed out to New Orleans.

Ouside the Mansion.
Once I got to the set I was quickly let to this restaurant that was serving as a cafeteria of sorts. It was cool, they had a nice variety of food, and various members of the cast and crew, as well as fellow members of the media were all hanging out. I didn’t want to bother the cast and crew while they ate, so I grabbed a seat and talked with a few of the crew members that had finished eating. Soon we were introduced to a production assistant named David, who was stuck with the task of showing the press around. The first thing he did was walk us around the mansion, where a good bit of the film’s action takes place. This place was huge, and looked pretty scary both inside and out. He showed us all of the rooms that were being used in this amazing location, and even let us check out some of the props, and left over body parts from the previous day’s shoot.
It wasn’t long before one of the film’s producers led us to a scene involving Monica Keena on a balcony that was really impressive. Not long after that we got to see Monica shoot a shotgun while covered in blood (horror movies are so much fun). The dynamic between director Adam Gierasch and the cast was pretty impressive. He really seemed to connect with them. He seemed to have a genuine love of the genre, and was constantly working to provide the actors with the motivation they needed.

I love head!
After watching Monica Keena shoot the shotgun, we finally got to the main event. A demon (with an amazing body) shows up to torment some of the cast members. Let me say that the demon make-up looked fantastic. I was amazed at how realistic it looked, and I was also a little disturbed by the fact that I couldn’t take my eyes off the demon chicks bod (maybe hell won’t be so bad after all). After this scene wrapped we were led to the actors trailer to snag a few interviews before we headed home.
On the drive home I couldn’t help but smile. I’m not really a fan of remakes, but I can honestly say that these filmmakers truly love the horror genre, and were putting everything they had into this movie. I’m positively going to be checking this one out the minute it’s released.
