Celebrity Dish: Serving up the gossip you should know!

jillian-harris-picIt seems that love is in the air … especially if you’ve appeared on a reality TV show.

Last week, Bachelorette Jillian Harris handed Ed Swiderski the final rose. And he handed her an engagement ring, which she happily accepted. It was a season of in and outs for this no-longer-single gal. Ed left early in the season, citing pressures from work, only to return after deciding Jillian was indeed that important. And in the final episode, Reid, who made it to the final three, found the guts to tell Jillian how he felt about her. But Ed had already won Jillian’s heart. So far, no wedding plans have been made. I can’t help but wonder if we’ll see that on the air, too.

Another former Bachelor, Aaron Buerge, will marry Angye McIntosh this week. The couple met through his former girlfriend (no, not Helene Ecksterowicz, who he proposed to at the end of his season) and have been together for a couple of years, he says. Well, they say that when one door closes, another door opens …

And if conquering one reality show is good, conquering two is even better. Rob and Amber Mariano, who met during an all-stars Survivor and went on to compete in The Amazing Race, welcomed their first child, daughter Lucia Rose. I’m thinking this little one definitely could win Baby Big Brother, where newborns are voted out of the nursery and sent home with their parents – after being interviewed by Julie Chen, of course.

But the love bug hasn’t bitten just reality TV stars. Ali Larter, who plays Niki Sanders on Heroes, married fellow actor Hayes MacArthur recently in a small ceremony in Maine. And Mark Wahlberg finally married Rhea Durham surrounded by friends and family in Beverly Hills. The two have been together for nearly 10 years and have three children.

Unfortunately, it’s not all candy hearts and roses for some couples. Pop star Joe Jonas and actress Camilla Belle have split. (Yes, I heard all of those “Awwws.”) The two had been dating since last fall. Ladies, go ahead and admit it. Part of you feels terrible for him. Another part of you is thinking, “So, he’s single again …”

And in family news, the courts have decided that Michael Jackson’ mother, Katherine, will have permanent custody of Paris, Prince and Blanket. Debbie Rowe, Paris and Prince’s mother, will have visitation rights. But Paris, Prince and Blanket might just have another sibling to contend with. Joe Jackson has confirmed that 25-year-old Omar Bhatti is Michael’s biological son. Michael reportedly told his friends in 2004 that Bhatti was his son from a one-night-stand. He has been staying with the singer’s family and is believed to be seeking a DNA test. And so, dear readers, this saga continues.
