Blowing Smoke: A Letter From the Editor
Â
Due to Media Temple’s poor quality hosting service this letter is being published late. The server cluster crashed including our backups (what good are backups if the backup system crashes with the cluster?), and as a result Killer Film has been offline since February 28th until now. We are going to be switching hosting companies because of Media Temple’s piss poor ability to provide us with our backups. For this inconvenience we here at Killer Film offer our apologies and want all of our readers to know that we are doing everything in our power to make sure that this doesn’t happen again. Once we find the right host we are going to have to move the site and it could take up to twelve hours for it to propagate across the web. So when we do make the move we’ll do it very late at night and we’ll post a warning in order to insure the least amount of down time for our readers. Thank you in advance for understanding.
The month of February was definitely an awesome month, despite Media Temple’s hiccup. We had the Oscar Twitter campaign, our first episode of Killer Film TV, and lots and lots of great movies. We also added a few new staff members to our growing number of talented writers. Erin Bennett and Amy Wickenheiser joined the team and both of them are kicking much ass. Â
Looking forward to March we are eagerly anticipating the release of Watchmen and I love You Man. We also have interviews scheduled with cast and crew members of the awesome indie film …Around. If you have a chance to catch this flick on the festival circuit be sure to do so because it is totally worth your time. Also, we are doing our best to bring new episodes of Killer Film TV to the site every week, and are working on other original video content as well. So be on the look out for these cool new additions to the site, and be sure to check them out when they reach our featured video section, and pass them on to your friends. Â
Lets have another killer month that is filled with awesome movies, and remember that we encourage all of our readers to comment and sign up for our RSS feed. Â
Until next month,
Donny Broussard
