Why is it that the intern is so abused in nearly every portrayal?  Is the abuse they incur in the real world a direct result of the entertainment industry’s insistence on their status as nobodies who get the coffee and be quiet?  That is certainly the reason I treat an intern as someone who does my work for free.  No matter.  If movies have taught me anything it is that the intern and their kind, the general underdogs of society, will consistently overcome the odds, climb the ladder, and make a name for themselves all while getting the coffee.

Fear not the drudgery, interns of the world.  In every task there is a lesson to be learned, a jewel to be recovered from some sunken ship.  For every Storm in X-Men 3 you survive there is a renewed passion and appreciation for things in life that are decidedly not Storms.  Develop the skill to walk away, happier that a dark moment in your life has passed and you’re on your way up.

Few people start at the top and while Spiderman 3 may not be at the top, it isn’t too far from the bottom.
