X-Men: First Class gets a release date
Since the “talks” turned into a definite confirmation for Matthew Vaughn to direct X-Men: First Class, Twentieth Century Fox decided to announce a release date of June 3rd, 2011. Now, at the same time this sounds cool at first glance, but when you add in the fact that Fox wants production to start up this summer with no set cast it doesn’t anymore.
Vaughn will be working off the script that Bryan Singer and Jamie Moss put together. The general story line is set on the early days of Xavier’s Institute for Gifted Youngsters with the original X-Men team and the friendship between Charles Xavier and Erik Leshner aka Magneto before it went horribly sour. Although he is not directing like a lot of fans originally figured/wanted, Singer is set to produce the picture with Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg.
Read on some more to see what kind of praises Singer and Fox are saying about the full on fast-track production of this X-Men prequel (via Variety).:
“I’ve been a fan of Matthew’s since ‘Layer Cake,” said Singer. “He has a deft hand with multiple characters and storylines, and a great love of the X-Men universe. I feel the combination of this story and his vision will make for an exciting and original X-Men film.”
“‘X-Men: First Class’ presents an exciting opportunity to further explore the history and relationships of these beloved characters. Matthew’s combination of talent, verve and vision is perfectly suited to the task,” Fox prexy of production Emma Watts said.
Now that the crew is set, who do you want to see appear as part of the cast of either the X-Men or Magneto’s Brotherhood?

Why dear god, why?
Just let the rights go back to Marvel so we can have the proper people doing this
