Worthington wants in on Terminator 5
There’s no doubt that one of the best parts about Terminator Salvation was the incredible performance given by Sam Worthington as Marcus Wright. With no chance of returning back to the character, you would think that he would want to move onto focus on other films, right? No.
In an interview with MTV, Worthington spoke about wanting to return and even has an idea as to how is character can come back:
“I had an idea that we’d go back in time to when Marcus was first put in jail,” the actor explained, referring to his character’s status as a death-row inmate years before being turned into a machine. “They broke Linda Hamilton out of jail in ['Terminator 2: Judgment Day'], out of the nuthouse. In this one, they’d have to go back in time and break Marcus out of jail. It’s the same kind of mirror image.”
“He would be more fallible, because he’s human; he’s not metallic,” he said. “He can get hurt. He still has the gung-ho attitude, but he can get hurt now.”
I do like the concept he gives, but I really don’t think it would be a good idea for the series to return to the time travel plot line. The fans have been wanting to see the future war for sometime and I think it would be best if they stuck with that concept. I’m always going to be of the mind set, that the series should have ended with Terminator 2: Judgment Day, but since we are getting more films they should stick with the war and finish the story. I do admire his passion for the character a lot, but I think its best that he moved on to other roles.
Sam Worthington can next be seen in Clash of the Titans in theaters this April 2nd.

Sam W00DENton was one of the main issues I had with Terminator: Salvation. Seems like a nice guy, but I’m simply don’t care for him as an actor.
