Worthington is Dracula

Sam Worthington, action star of Clash of the Titans, Terminator Salvation, and Avatar, is set to play Prince Vlad, better known in historical circles as Vlad the Impaler, but we love him as Dracula, for Alex Proyas’ Dracula: Year Zero film. Filming will begin in June 2011, after Worthington wraps Clash of the Titans 2. Obviously, he’s committed to Avatar 2, but that looks to be happening much later.

It will be interesting to see how Worthington portrays Vlad, considering he was a tyrant that drank the blood of his enemies. It’ll depend on Proyas’ script, and outside of I, Robot, I’ve really enjoyed everything he has done like The Crow, Dark City, and Knowing.
