Winterbottom finds the Promised Land

The Shock Doctrine director Michael Winterbottom will be going behind the lens sooner than later as he takes on Promised Land. Jim Sturgess, star of 21 and Across the Universe, will take on the lead role of a British officer who hunts down extremist Jewish factions. The story recounts the lead up to the 1948 partition of Palestine and the subsequent creation of the state of Israel (Variety).

Producing the picture is Andrew Eaton under Revolution Films with an expected initial filming date to be commencing sometime at the start of the summer. The Killer Inside Me, Winterbottom’s latest feature, will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival this month.

I've been in love with film ever since I was a kid. The time, effort and passion that runs through a majority most film is something that's always attracted me to this field. What ended up happening with my big appetite for all things going on in the industry turned from random blurbs on Facebook to an unexpected but fun job. College student by day, movie news writer by early morning...or any time in the day and night when more news arrives. Working towards my bachelor's degree in film, what a surprise. I do other things too, like draw, write stories, maintain a social life and feed my pet dragon Lockheed. If you want to know more about me, hunt me down and just ask.
