Winners for the Gotham Awards
Earlier this evening the 19th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards took place in New York City. With plenty of nominees for each category, the process quickly wrapped itself up in time for the November 30th presentation. A fair number of these films have been released through this year, though a fair number of them I have even asked other people about and a good number of them have no idea what I’m talking about. Hopefully with the kick off of the awards season with films like The Hurt Locker getting the spotlight, maybe people will take a little more interest on lesser mainstream films that are playing. Here’s the winner’s list below:

Best Feature
- The Hurt Locker
Best Documentary
- Food Inc.
Breakthrough Director Award
- Robert Siegel – Writer/Director – Big Fan
Breakthrough Actor Award
- Catalina Saavedra – The Maid
Best Ensemble Performance Award
- Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Brian Geraghty, Ralph Fiennes, Guy Pearce, David Morse and Evangeline Lilly – The Hurt Locker
Best Film Not Playing at a Theater Near You
- You Won’t Miss Me

Good to see Hurt Locker getting some early recognition. I can’t wait to see it again on Blu-ray in January.
