Who are you gonna Call? Anna Faris?

Our favorite team of Ghostbusters will be returning to the big-screen for one last go at keeping us safe from the paranormal in Ghostbusters 3, along with some new and younger Ghostbusters. Feature Film Auditions is reporting that Anna Faris (Scary Movie 1-4) is listed among the actors set to star in the film. Nothing is known about her role, but it’s likely she’ll be one of the new recruits. Sony is currently holding a casting call between now and early Spring for the other replacements.

Ivan Reitman will also be returning in the director’s chair once again, along with Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, and Sigourney Weaver. Bringing in a new team would be the most obvious way to continue the franchise, but it will tough to re-capture the same chemistry the original team had in Ghostbusters. The site seems to confirm earlier rumors that filming would begin next year (here), and a release date is apparently set for Christmas 2012. Although, it may be changed as to not go up against Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit or Zack Snyder’s The Man of Steel.
