When will we see Ant-Man?

Edgar Wright has been confirmed to direct a live-action adaptation of Ant-Man, but that was four years ago and there’s no telling when might the film begin production. Now SuperHeroHype got a chance to speak with the head of Marvel Studios on when we might see the film:

“Edgar was in L.A. last week, we sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting ‘Scott Pilgrim,’ so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we’d start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after ‘The Avengers.’”

This does seem to deny the speculation over the character appearing in The Avengers, but not completely. There is still the possibility the character could briefly appear in The Avengers, with the solo film afterwards.
