What’s to happen to Grisbys Go Broke?
Word’s been floating around that Grisbys Go Broke, the last script created by the late John Hughes, finally found itself a home within the realms of Paramount Pictures. Unfortunately, that’s nothing more than a fleeting thought as The Hollywood Reporter gets a confirmation from the powerful studio who says they have yet to start any form of negotiations in regards to the script. This could appear to be the most surprising thing, since you would at first expect some form of a bidding war happening behind the scenes for another piece of Hughes’ work.
The screenplay follows a wealthy Chicago family that loses everything and is forced to move to the sticks (THR). Last night at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Hughes got proper tribute as his catalog of films was played out with several actors from his features came out to speak fondly of the writer/director.
