Welsh takes on The Magnificent Eleven

Irvine Welsh is making his way from the pages of a novel to behind the camera as he signs on to direct The Magnificent Eleven. The story is more of a modern-day version of the classic 1960 western The Magnificent Seven in which the Cowboys are a local amateur soccer team, the Indians run a nearby Tandoori restaurant and the bandits are a group of menacing thugs run by a maniac called Blonde Bob, says Screen Daily. Many of us have no idea who Welsh is, unless you’ve read the novel Trainspotting that ended up being adapted for the big screen with Danny Boyle helming it and Ewan McGregor starring in the tale.

Set to be part of the cast is Sean Bean, Robert Vaughan and Dougray Scott. Producing the picture is Angry Badger Pictures along with John Adams.
