Weitz wants to be a Gardener

Submitted by Melissa Molina on November 23, 2009 – 12:04 amNo Comment

11149Chris Weitz has been one of the more popular people in the Tinseltown circuit within the past week. The most obvious reason being that he helmed the record breaking sequel called Twilight Saga: New Moon, but the other towards the end of the last week was his rumor mill. It was spinning about over murmurs of the director jumping ship on his job after the release of this film entirely, but Summit Entertainment seem to be persistent to keep Weitz under their wing and working.

Weitz is in the middle of negotiations to helm The Gardener with Eric Eason penning the script. The picture is about a hard-working immigrant who lives in Los Angeles and his efforts to protect his son (Variety). No word yet on who else will jump on board for this picture, but more information will surely come within the coming months.
